It's a great song. Though any list which includes songs by Hansen and Micheal Jackson is just plain rubbish.

Rob Thomas picked up #60...so it's not all bad.

Plus his cover of Time after Time is better than the original, that has to count for something.

Eminem's "Lose Yourself", or what I call the "once in a lifetime, yo" song, number 4?!?!? Are they out of their gourd? What's next? Atticus Finch lauded greatest hero ever?

We're talking one hundred songs over twenty-five years. That's a lot of music to go through, and a lot of legitimate number ones left by the wayside. Personally, I would give older songs more weight, because time separates gems from the fads.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Stupid. A guy like Billy Joel should have a handful of songs on there for starters.

Plus I must say haven't been blessed by even knowing the existance of half of those songs on the list.

I agree about Billy Joel. What about Elton John? Does he have a single song on the list?

They tried to cross all genres, as well, and that throw an addition wrench into matters. They're limiting themselves to four songs a year (more or less) to begin with -- how many songs up there are rap, anyway? Rap is legitimate, but I don't like it, so to my POV rap song represent wasted slots.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

"Best songs ever" lists are a waste of time. Apart from the impossibility of comparing rock/rap/hip-hop/whatever, anyone who knows or prefers one style pretty much knows FA about the others.

Honestly, most of those songs are either crap or are bettered by the very same bands' other songs. Exclude songs that weren't singles or not known outside their own countries and it becomes a best of ****-all!

Just because no one outside Australia has ever heard of Cold Chisel or The Angels doesn't mean they weren't great bands. Australians treat music like our beer - we only export stuff we don't like
