I don't think its very hard to get US citizenship if you come from great Britain unless you have issues such as a significant criminal record or something. Quotas are major issues for countries like China, the US is not worried about the flood of immigrants from the UK.
The fact you have a university education should work in your favor. Your best bet might be to come over originally on a green card after getting a job at a US company, and start working on the process of getting citizenship once you do so.
I wouldn't take most of these responses seriously, its not that hard to get US citizenship for well educated UK citizens.
