Hmmm, let's see. Europe is a collection of small states. Kind of like the US back in the day. Unless you like being under the boot of the US, and allowing King George W. to play divide and conquer, I suggest you guys form something more like a superstate. The resulting larger economy might even be able to counter King George's steel tariffs and continue to push for labeling of GM foods. Gee, you might want to be able to stand up to US policies you disagree with.

Frankly, theStinger, if you want to be the US's prison ***** - that's fine with me. But remember, at the founding of the US, plenty of people didn't want to cede power from state to federal government. History buried them - and will probably bury you as well.

You must be a european enthusiast as all the problems in the world can be laid at the door of the US, if only we can come together we can overcome the mighty evil empire.

I forgot to add that there was no mention of democracy in your little rant

The EU will also democratize your country and laws.

It begins with your non existant labour laws for the protection of theworkers.

Sure, it would be much better if we left each other alone. Like, say, we left hitler alone .

Their fear of them becoming like the US permits me to have fun with him, don't you know? You're the biggest incentive for further EU integration.

The EU can save corrupt little basket case countries by giving them large amounts of money to waste on olive oil production. However the big grown up countries have to pay for this and they are starting to get annoyed about it. So we'll stop giving you money and then you won't have any time to laughably instruct others on how to run their affairs, as you will be too busystopping the commies or the colonels being in power
