Sure we would! We'd steal their houses and keep their tvs!

Of course the're friends. Where would they find friends elsewhere. Anyway, that is friends who don't just kiss their ass.

The word benefit hurts less than exploitation, but the end result is the same : a part of their standard of living results from the work of poorer people.

And the reverse is true then also. The lower class benefits from the middle class. But the lower and middle class do not benefit from the upperclass because of expolitation.

Certainly, as soon as you have designed a peaceful way to share 1 million or 10 millions houses between 5 billions of candidates!

The communist buzzwords are thick as sh!t in this thread. I thought communism had finally been thrown in the trashbin of history?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Well, let's start with the words. Like "underproletariat".

                      Chegitz,

Farmers are NOT massively exploited. They provide a good that everyone needs, thus they have a guaranteed job. Plus, the term "exploitation" is bull**** anyway - no one is being forced to work for free, and no one is forced to keep a job they don't like.

Not intended to offense; if I say people working in sweatshops, is it better (even if it means the samething) ?

What did you expect to find in here? Anyway, do you have a problem discussing the hierarchy of the system? Don't think it plays a role?

I have a lot of left-wing ideas, but this "exploitation" idea bothers me. Why is it exactly that if you are under other people, you are then being exploited? It seems like a negative connotation is being ascribed to the natural stratification of society.

A major problem with Communism to me is that it looks like nobody is willing to accept any responsibility for their position in life, and by extension their own actions. Is social position really always linked to exploitation, or is it just people shirking responsibility?

cyclotron: This is not true. In my society ( call it extreme socialist, not communist, whatever) We'll any proffession that we have today, except a handful of them. You'll still be the one to choose who do you want to be. You still be taking responisbilities in your life. Why not so?
