    • I mean really, 11pm? I usually get my ass out at around 10 and something. Sometimes later. That's a shame.

Another thing I wanted to ask you is prices. How much will a ride on a taxi cost? how much will drinks cost? how much will entrance to a club cost? How much will food, or coffee cost?

Also, is the subway open all night? Is it safe?

in "Old Europe", so far, I've only been to Paris. it was very nice. ( I almost went to a Linkin Park concert, btw. )

          • Azazel and others, I knew most of you would want to see something while you were here so i wasn't meaning my bit to be the main event, just a side show that might be fun to do.
The Sat pm to Sun am just fits in with our(shop) working hours(i.e when we can have the place to our selves, well except for the first 2hrs untill the top section(40pc's ) closes.).
And as someone said, it would just be a way of getting together fairly cheaply as a group and having a couple of very cheap drinks
This place isn't called 'rip off London' for no reason!

Taxis around £5-10, Buses £1, Tube fairs are about £1.60, for journeys in central London. If you don't have luggage get travelcards. Unlimited travel throughout the day anywhere in London for about £5/day.

Did a quick check on cab fares, if you want to know exactly how they are calculated.

                how much will drinks cost?

Drinks in pubs are between £1.50 and £3, depending on where you go and what you have.

how much will entrance to a club cost?

I don't know, I don't go clubbing. Probably cheaper the earlier you go, anywhere up to £10 at a guess.

Restaurants can be very expensive, especially in tourist hotspots. I would suggest that if you look at the places just off the main squares and plazas you will find them much better value. Better still would be to get a guide to London which provides recommendations for places to eat and drink near the places you want to visit.

Also, is the subway open all night? Is it safe?

I lived in London and used the tube a lot. I never felt threatened. Its usually busy even until late. The trains run until about midnight and start up again about 6am from what I recall. Buses about the same (although there are numerous night bus services).

                • Hmm, not sure if I'll be in the country at that time, but i might drag myself down all 35 miles from Cambridge if I am.

Only problem is that it will have to be a big night, as the first train back only goes at 5.15 I think

                  • So, for a night out, I'd have to bring around 25-30 quid?

I could live like a king here on that.

                    • Would I be right if in thinking that that is the only Wetherspoons in London that you know how to get to?
                      It's easy to find.

                      It's central.

It's large, ergo it actually has seats available on a Friday night, and it doesn't take two hours to get to the bar.

                        • 1. we don't go clubbing because we want to talk to each other, clubs are too loud

                          2. 23:00 is way too early for parting... if clubs stay open longer than that, we can go clubbing afterwards

In London? That would barely get you into a club, let alone buy drinks...ie, we aren't going clubbing

(With the exception of the proximity to the Astoria) That's true of about 6 other Wetherspoons.
