Well, that's one thing we're very good at, we have been on the brink on civil war more then once in the last couple of decades (things have calmed down a lot the last one though).
Many other countries with different communities (Switzerland, Canada to name but a few) have visited Belgium or kept an eye on it on a regurlar basis to see how we managed to solve it peacefully. I might even say we acted as an example on this issue

The combined social democrat and liberal parties managed to get 97 seats out of 150 in the house. I'm rather happy with this result, it looks like forming a coalition will run smoothly and the next govt will be a lot more stable than the previous one.

I'm not nearly as happy with the result of the VB though. (sorry August )

          Check the results here.

Right... so you have a coalition between free-market liberals, and socialists? Strange...

Not that strange anymore, the Dutch had 2 consecutive coalitions of social democrats that were very succesfull for instance. The social democrats and liberals tend to get along well on ethic and environmental issues and they're moderate enough to compromise on economic ones.

Definitely more progressive than Blair is, just not as dogmatic as old style socialists.

Well you certainly can't be progressive and conservative.
