You were talking about cracking down on a now-illegal substance. I asked whether you think the substance should be illegal. So? What is your opinion on the matter?

Hueij is right, 100 dollars is too much. But luckily it'll be 100 Canadian dollars. Wooooo, party!
      John Brown did nothing wrong.

Answer the question, Dino. Quit being so hyper-argumentative and just carry on the conversation. Oh, and ditch that ugly avatar. Get something more cheerful.

And I fire the question back at you by asking what that has to do with enforcement of the law?

          Answer the question, Dino.
Why should I when neither Sava nor yourself has even pretended to give an answer to mine?

I think in terms of enforcing the law, higher priority should be given to more dangerous crime. That's not to say law shouldn't be enforced. It's more a question of resource allocation.

The question of enforcement and legality are directly related. If your goal is to decrease the occurance of certain things, there are better alternatives to prohibition. If a law's effects are damaging to society and a waste of government resources, I agree with not enforcing the law in order to bring about a change in it.

There I answered your question... Now answer mine please. Should marijuana be illegal or not?

Does this mean that they are still going to crack down on the "cash crop" farmers in BC?
The article mentioned that Canada will toughen penalties for farmers.

A step in the right direction. Now they need to legalize possession, consumption, and growing of all of the other drugs out there.

Oh course, Ashcroft and co. are talking about stepping up border security in case this new law passes in Ottawa.

Terrorism is one thing, but if you legalize pot, you're damned right we're gonna tighten up the border!

Where the **** are our priorities? Not only would this border crackdown be ass-backwards, it would also cripple border regions that rely on international trade, i.e. Detroit, Buffalo, Seattle...

When Nixon started his drug war, they tried increasing border inspections and within a few days the lines of traffic at the border were miles long. What's funny about Ashcroft and the feds is that they are threatening border delays over this but not because of 9/11. What a bunch of idiots!

That's because buying weed causes people to crash planes into big buildings.
