Euro almost at it's introductory value vs the Dollar!
That's true, but it also reduces the foreign investment that come into your country. The US gets more foreign invesment because foreign investment is the natural place for the dollars that leave the US.
Foreign investment=Trade Deficit-Currency held outside the country
Not necessarily. If the dollar is weak, there will actually be more FDI in the country. Things are cheaper in the US, therefore more companies would do business there. Same thing happening in Argentina with improved growth.
Paiktis, get a frigging clue. This isn't something you should celebrate. A stronger Euro is damaging to the Euro-zone economy.

You arrogant little person, paiktis. The euro isn't kicking the dollar's ass. You can't even make the ****ing connection that is highly damaging to EUROPE! This will just kill exports in many countries already with weak economies, take France and Germany for example.

A strong currency will cause Euro firms to be more productive to keep up with foreign competitors. It may cause problems, but it may also increase efficiencies.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
Big Crunch, you are not looking at both sides. That so may happen, but it will damage EU exports to the US. That will hurt.

It's impossible for the US to become a net exporter, bring in net foreign investment and maintain its status as banker to the world at the same time, because the number of dollars held outside the US would have to shrink. The US trade deficit is a result of the organization of the world economy.

Fez,
In order for the Euro to become the key currency the EU would have to transform itself into an economy which attracts foreign investment instead of making foreign investment. It would have to become a net importer so that the other nations could use the Euro as key currency.
