Israel does indeed have compulsory military service, as, I believe, do a number of countries in Europe (Switzerland?).Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.Comment

Switzerland has a compulsory military service but it has (i belief) no standard army, at least not a very large army. Switzerland has natural defences and has no need for a large army. Isreal on the other hand has a more then avarege army for a it's size so if you middle these two you'll have a accurate number i hope
