ooc: I don't mean to get into a flame war with you, Lazerus, so I hope it doesn't come off as such. I just think secret cities under the ground, nerve staples and seeker drones are way too sci-fi for this forum.
I think, far from enhancing role-play, it weakens it immensely, as it leads to us all trying to out-do each other in terms of creating wildly inventive future tech. I think some future tech is ok, as long as it is technically feasible in the here-and-now. Otherwise, for me at least, it is the same as someone using magic or supernatural powers. All fun, in their place. I just happen to think that this is not it.
So... rather than get into an argument with you, I thought I should just say my piece, and treat any subsequent sci-fi tech as Kim Il-Jung style ravings.
