    ooc: I don't mean to get into a flame war with you, Lazerus, so I hope it doesn't come off as such. I just think secret cities under the ground, nerve staples and seeker drones are way too sci-fi for this forum.

    I think, far from enhancing role-play, it weakens it immensely, as it leads to us all trying to out-do each other in terms of creating wildly inventive future tech. I think some future tech is ok, as long as it is technically feasible in the here-and-now. Otherwise, for me at least, it is the same as someone using magic or supernatural powers. All fun, in their place. I just happen to think that this is not it.

    So... rather than get into an argument with you, I thought I should just say my piece, and treat any subsequent sci-fi tech as Kim Il-Jung style ravings.

      I don't mind comments, just pm me or something so we dont waste space on the story thread. My last post explaining stuff;
      Seeker drones ? you sound as if you're talking about robots ? drones = uneducated, lazy,undisciplined people
      Nerve staples = north korean style brainwashing + labotomy if you want it brought into modern terms.
      Cities = expanded nuclear bunkers <- abit sci-fi ish i agree due to the size but it IS possible (already in place for around several thousand important personel in England incase of nuclear attack i heard), just i doubt people of this era would like it too much therefore nobody is going to attempt it out of choice.
      Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity.         [OOC: Ack! So much to attend to - not enough time to go around... Been busy all day and it's way to late to start posting here now when I have to get up and go to work in less than 6 hours and only slept about 4 hours last night. I'll try to get back into this tomorrow. In the meantime, I guess it will have to suffice to say that Guardinia is trying to figure out what the heck is going on with these "terrorists" and all...]

            The aide ripped the telex of the printer and ran to the PResidents door. he didnt bother knocking but ran straight in. The President looked up from his desk and was about to say sometihn about knocking when he saw the look on the young mans face. He knew immediatly that something was drastically worng.

            "what is it young man" Howard asked.

            The aide stumbled over to the presidents desk and handed over the printout. he was speechelss.

            The President read the printout slowly, his anger rising with every word. When he got to the end he glared at his aide.

            "Get my council in here now, make sure Field Marshall Cosgrove is here."

            The young aide nodded and hurried from the room to do as he was bid.

            Th PResident slumped back in his chair and let the printout fall to the desk. Written in big bold print was
            "We have your family, stop the bombardment of Thudoa or they will die"

                The Jonchastan Central Committee would like to express its concern over the latest turn of events in the Azan situation. We remain doubtful of Auldonina's claims of terrorist insurgency, all "evidence" notwithstanding. Rather we tend to view the Azani people as acting within their sovereign, democratic rights in resisting foreign occupation.

                Thus we urge all parties involved to withdraw immediately from Former Azan. To alleviate fears of "instability" in the region, we suggest mandating the Apolyton Court to administer the territory as a protectorate, until such time as a viable, local government emerges.

                  In a rage of fury, President Howard ordered increased bombing of the terrorist camps and also began bombing other locations on the mainland. He was in an insane mood and nothing would stop him now.

                  He ordered the full destruction of the Terrorists and all that belonged to them.

                  He was due on national televison later in the day to state to the nation and the world his undertaking , not to negotiate with Terrorists , despite his wife and three sons being captured.

                    Several hundred metres away, a long shape broke the dark water under a moonless night sky. Seconds later, missiles blasted off from the vessel, which again quickly disappeared from the surface, leaving only a widening ring of ripples behind.

                      General Frankychan donned his cap and adjusted his sunglasses. He was to broadcast a live message to the nations of Apolyton in moments.

                      The cameraman signaled that he was ready. General Frankychan nodded and the broadcast began...

                      "Nations of Apolyton. I am General Frankychan of Frankychanland. Some of you flat out REFUSE to acknowledge my new title....but it is of no consequence.

                      The recent escalation between certain nations and my own have not been without merit. But these constant accusations of warmongering from these obviously hostile nations should not be ignored. The grand nations of Auldonina and the Hive have graciously lended their support in Frankychanland's war of sovereignty and independence from outside powers.

                      These nations have promised to help bolster our defenses in this dark time, and I pledge that the military of Frankychanland will defend our nations sovereignty, as well as to protect our allies.

                      Additionally, there has been some concern about Frankychanland's treatment of the now displaced people of Azan. Let me just say that our nation helped to topple that corrupt regime and with the help of our great allies we will rebuild it to a nation that will be the envy of every other nation here in Apolyton.

                      But, until that time, the nation of Azan, as well as it's people and industry, are under the direct supervision of Frankychanland, Auldonina, and the Hive. Any interference will be met with deadly force.

                            The Airforce received their new orders and began saturation bombing of suspected terrorists sites.

                            The Navy moved into position and launched tomahawk missiles.

                            Transport ships were in position to offload the landing craft upon cesation of the bombing.

                            The Aerial Campaign had been going on now for 2 months !

                                Peace in Azan.

                                General Henry Fonzerelli is to meet with the newly established governemnt of Azan, helped to be set up by the great leadership of FCL.

                                Fonzerelli stated that with all Azanian terrorsits now located and cleared from the former territory of Azan, that there now would be a ceasation of all agression on the island.

                                General Fonzerelli proposed a division of the territory into three zones.

                                The Northern Zone of former Azan, now under Frankychan rule would be handed over in full to FCL and the FCL border would be moved south to the Great River.

                                A Southern zone would be created which would remian under Auldonina control for a period of time allowing the Auldonina military airfields, naval bases and army barracks to continue their fight agaisnt terrorists to the East.

                                An Eastern Zone will be created in which the newly formed government of Azan would be allowed freedom to re establish their ravished nation. Auldonina would assist them with finances to accomplsih this rebuild.

                                If FCL leadership is in agreeance then the following will be the new map.
