    Turn 33/34 -> St Jon

    Oh Great Lung, we hardly knew ye...

    The news of riots in a mythical place called Greece has sent tremors through Our Empire. Perhaps a virus has infected Our world. We fear the spead of this virus to Our people. Beware all!

    After a night of wining and dining with the best We have to offer, the Noble Spanish Diplomat was given a speedy return to his home, after establishing an embassy. It's too bad that We do not have the ability to send Our units so swiftly to distant destinations.

    The women of our realm commented on the handsomeness of the Spanish contignent. But they are content with the Incan men.

    It is not Our desire to engage in wasteful pursuits with the Australians, so We have sent a small gift of gold as a token of Our esteem, in an effort to to placate the people of Aussieland.

    Peace is a balm to salve Our soul!

    Hextapul has spoken.

      Oh blessed Greeks, how good it is find you! Much has been told of the great works of your culture but even to see that you really exist is a joy.

      My Missionary will establish an Embassy next Turn and then, if you have no objection, head South toward the lands roamed over by the 'hunter gatherer' tribe known as the Welsh.

      Love to you All.

        It is with relief that the disagreement between the Australians and the Inca has been resolved...!

        Breaker Morant, we are approximately 3 cycles away from Darwin - approaching from the East... To reciprocate - if you remember the location of Las Matas, you will be welcomed there with the most lavish of feasts!

        Xenophon, the highways are yours to command! As the French already know - we are not ones to stand in the way of diplomatic progress!

        Hextapul, my diplomats reported that the welcome given them was indeed of the most hospitable kind - our thanks to you most gracious charity...!

          Turn 34 ==> Stavros

          The wayward ambassador returned to Welsh soil today, and strict instructions to visit the lands of the Spansih people only have been given.

            General Lung is not gone, just tucked away in an office where he can do no harm The unhappiness plague that befell the world upon my arrival was pure coincidence

            Mercenary Lung will return whenever Demosthenes needs some dirty work done. Just kidding, Demos

              Looks like Darwin has been nominated the diplomatic centre of Australia. There's a full scale diplomatic conference happening here. Diplomats left right, and centre...
              Nice to see the kids playing so nicely together

              Meanwhile, I thank the Incans for their token peace offering, and am glad that we have resolved our little dispute.

                Turn 34 to Hextapul

                All the cities suffering from the riot-inducing malady have gone back to more constructive pursuits, but a new victim has succumbed. That the duration only appears to be one cycle is a hopeful sign, and we will continue to monitor the health of our people.

                It was a delight to be able to entertain the envoy of St. Jon, but his behaviour was surprising given all that the Saint espouses. He consumed far more wine than any man we have ever seen, and was soon chasing several maidens down the hall with his pantaloons down to his ankles, crying "Debauchery! Debauchery! " Only the fact that he passed out cold before he could catch them prevented an embarrassing incident. But perhaps this is not really surprising given that this is the first taste of freedom the poor man has ever experienced. Still, he is an amusing fellow, and we look forward to great friendship with he, his master, St. Jon, and all of France. We will soon visit the French people ourselves, with your permission!

                Continued greetings to Demosthenes. We see that your knight continues his stay in Greece, but we must repeat the request we made of General Lung that he not head west further into Greek lands. We look forward to visiting you quite soon, as our Diplomatic envoys pass each other near Darwin. Indeed all roads seem to lead to Darwin!

                Peace,

                Xenophon

                  Turn 34/35 -> St Jon

                  A nomimal peace has been achieved with the Aussies...

                  ...And, a lighthearted story from the Greeks has brightened our day.

                  I fear for the French diplomat when he returns to his homeland - much suffering is in store for him from the 'Sainted One' for his unseemly behavior.

                  Be meciful, oh Creator!

                  The virus of the Greeks has yet to reach our cities. Perhaps the virus is passed because of promiscuous and loose behavior. It is well-known that the Greeks have the fastest growing population among us.

                  Babies have to be made somehow!

                    Turn 35 to Madrid.

                    It would please 'His Purity' were the Mythical Hextupal refrain from blasphemy! To even allude to Fornication is a Mortal Sin and though,in his mercy, 'The Sinless One' has chosen to overlook the foul tongue of a heathen who has yet to be touched by his benifiscence such behaviour cannot be allowed to continue!

                    Brother Tomas, you have had contact with these barbarians have you not? Surely your Missionaries should guide them upon the path to righteous salvation!

                    As for reports of misbehaviour on the part of the French Missionary sent forth to the Greeks, and beyond, shock is too mild a term! Please, Noble Xenophon, accept the apologies of the entire congregation for these misdeeds and be assured that upon his return he shall be 'broken upon the wheel' following a suitable period of repentence upon the rack.

                      As my Personal Envoy arrived at Darwin today, a great spectacle there was to behold. People of all nations mingling together, happy and full of peace. The huge markets of Darwin selling all manner of exotic swamp flowers, the great city walls towering above and protecting all and sundry, like the Lord Almighty. Truly, we have been moved.

                      • Indeed, Cardinal Misanthropese our diplomat found Inca culture and hospitality to be far from barbaric, but very warm and welcoming…

                        Our Missionary did impart certain arcane knowledges to the Inca as regards to 'positioning' if that is what you mean about guiding them upon the path to righteous salvation?

                        With regards to the deviant path followed by your French Missionary, Brother Tomas is eager to try out a new invention in the field of saving souls from damnation…

                        He was wondering whether St Jon would sanction the use of our new 'Horse'???

                        • Turn 35 to Hextapul

                          High above the sea, a lone scrubwoman was leaning out a window, hanging out her laundry to dry in the mountain city of Naxos. What she saw almost made her fall through that window:

                          An army of 4 Inca were making their way toward the city walls!

                          Great Hextapul, I know you do not even know that the city is in your army's path, as we have never exchanged maps. So there is no fear in my heart that anything hostile is about to transpire.

                          But the citizens of Naxos are not a worldly people, and they have become unduly alarmed at the sight of a foreign army marching directly toward them.

                          To put their minds at ease, I would ask that you turn around immediately. For I know your intentions are friendly, and not to make simple launderesses quake!

                          Your congenial neighbour,

                            My apologies to the Greeks and their women. I did not realize that you had a city in the vicinity. Our forces must have become disoriented in their long journey.

                            A small problem due to the non-map exchange policy of Our government. We are currently reviewing the ramifications of this policy though...

                            Never fear, they are returning from whence they came. Feel free to verify my faithfulness to the rest of the world leaders on the next turn.

                            I am a man of my word, though others may doubt this.
