  • Turn 16 to Shavlor.

My belief is that the only way in which the language difficulties can be overcome is for the French/German Datafiles to be substituted with the English ones. I know of no way in which messages can be translated en route. I follow Slamp in two Games and though I get messages in English, from him, the responces I am offered usually include things like 'aiduprisingbutton' instead of 'Accept', etc.

Obviously the differences in our cultures have yet to be overcome. The humour of the Welsh should be interpreted as a slight on the nature of our neighbours. Our early reports had led us to believe that our humour would not offend the Australians, but this now appears to be wrong.

To that end Wales has immediately dispatched an Ambassador to the people of Australia so that we might better understand the differences in our cultures.

          Humour.... OK...

Tell me the specific nature of the humour you intend to use, and I'll get my scientists, and entertainers to enter a colaborative research initiative, so that we may be prepared for it in the future

Oh, and I presume your statement
"The humour of the Welsh should be interpreted as a slight on the nature of our neighbours."
was supposed to have a NOT in it somewhere, no?

Greece notes that Spain is experiencing a population boom. One wonders if perhaps Spanish scientists have invented "Spanish Fly".

Hextapul wonders what this concept called humor is.

Our people are too busy with the day-to-day effort of trying to survive in a harsh and unforgiving environment to spend time laughing at the wacky comments of the other world leaders.

A hard days work is its own reward.

'Humour', whilst not being direct Blasphemy, is without doubt a 'minor' Sin. It, of itself, implies pleasure in 'This Life' which is intolerable and though my infinite mercy would limit the pennance to death there are many of my Disciples who would wish for atonement to be shown upon Earth.

Suffer My Children for therein lies the road to your Salvation.

The Welsh are delighted that our own religion differs from the French. For whilst our Lord offers the promise of eternal bliss in the next life, that does not mean we have to suffer so terribly in this life.

It is for us to prove ourselves worthy, and by making others happy through humour, we feel that we are bettering ourselves in the eyes of the Lord.

Greek Druids have finally accomplished their task.

Now they can work on inventing Christmas trees.

There seems to be a population boom among the French people too. In light of earlier statements by the 'Sainted One' regarding any pleasure as intolerable, Incan social scientists are postulating that the act of mating among the French people must bring a lot of pain and suffering to them.

This is only a theory though...as we have not met any French women yet to prove otherwise!
