  • Love Conquers?

My Children, Felicitations to you All!

To confirm the playing order and names:

    French - 'Jon'
    Spanish - 'Tomas de Torquemada'
    Welsh - 'Demosthenes'
    Australians - 'Breaker Morant'
    Greeks - 'Xenophon'
    Inca - 'Hextupal'

The 'Pious One' has passed Turn 0 over to Tomas, always game for a laugh, Inquisitor.

    My Blessings Upon You All.

    St Jon, Love's Lover.

    Greetings from Tomas de Torquemada,

Upon first appraisal this land seems suited for colonisation by the anti heretic forces of Catholic Spain...

Already the Inquisition has to question just why our neighbours the French see fit to build a city right under our noses in clearly must be the heartland of Spanish territory...?

    Surely a mistake - n'est ce pas?

Shock horror! All five games I'm in arrive at once! Sorry for any delays in getting them back out again.

      Turn 0 ==> Breaker Morant

Demosthenes of the Welsh surveys his nation. A blissful place, with no apparent signs of life, save ourselves and a few thousand sheep.

And lo did'th a Demosthenes appear in sight?

Glory be unto the Sainted One for he had almost despaired of the most beloved member of his congregation.

        Love unto all.

The Australians are away, by foot, wind, and hoof...

I must warn the inquisitive Welsh, that they tred on dangerous ground, if they are anything but tourists on our holy of holy river Torens.

The turn crashes when I try to open it.
I attempted to open it off the desktop, and when that failed, I experimented with trying to open it as a scenario, but that failed, too.

I've emailed Stavros to please re-send it, just in case some data was lost in the emailing.

Jon, do I need anything new other than the mod we used for demos' and Burchill's game?

Rick, I have posted you the latest version I have and that seemed to solve Stavros' problems last night.

Let me know and if you have any further problems send the Turn to me. If I can't open it then it's a corrupt savefile rather than any incompatability problem.

                Turn 0 to Hextupal

A message of celebration has been sent out from Athens tonight. For the Greek nation has indeed been born. At first the land appeared a bit "spartan" for our tastes, but after traveling far and wide we have found suitable land to build upon.

We wish to convey our greetings to any others who may inhabit this earth, although there are many among us who doubt that others even exist. We have sent out explorers to find out the truth...

                  Turn 1-> Saint Jon

Greetings Great Leaders of the world (if you even exist),

I am the Mouthpiece of the 'Enigmatic One' - Great Hextapul. He has deemed not to show his face at this time, but remains within the sacred hidden capital of our new nation. When the time is right he will be revealed to the world.

My name is not important, but I must be called something - so my title is Hextan.

                  A point of clarification,
The records indicate our great leader to be named to be Hextupal. This is in error. Hextupal in our language means 'crafty, underhanded and sneaky.' This is a false representation of our Illustrious Leader. His name is Hextapul, meaning 'faithful, noble and true.' Some of you have had dealings with him in a previous world and understand that the latter definition is correct.

Our land is shrouded in the mists of time. It is harsh and unforgiving, unlike the fertile lands of the French, who have the privelege of going first in this world. But that is our lot in life and we do not begrudge them the benefits that is due the creator of this world.

                  Harsh lands make hardy souls...

May you all prosper... May we prosper more!

                  Hextapul has spoken.

It would appear that Catholic Spain and France will enter cordial relations after all...

Greetings also to Xenophon of the Greeks!

Greetings to all and have a good game!

                        The 'Pious One' returns!

The heathen dogs of Apolyton cannot foil a good Saint for long!

There's no point in posting a passe Sermon so a 'Get'th thine arse in gear beloved Demosthenes' will serve.

Peace, I hope my Treaty was accepted, between France and Spain is as nectar to a bee. I love you my son despite your somewhat unorthodox methods of converting the vile unbelievers!

Glory be unto Me for I shall inherit the Earth.

Brother Tomas, beloved friend and fellow traveller on the road to purity, please forward to Don so that movement of the heathen Welsh can be hastened.

Should further delay be encountered, I think you will agree it to be 'Mortal Sin', then perchance we might arrange for a 'breaking on the wheel'. This will no doubt do both our congregations good to see that Piety is not just preached but imposed upon those who would seek not to follow the road to salvation.

Late playing of turns is a heresy under the laws of Catholic Spain and punishable by excommunication!

Demos of Wales, repent now - or be cast from the flock!

The tyranie of Australia has yet to be enlightened to our brothers' Theocratic ways, but it's policies are the same. Late players should be put to the pire....

And while we're on such a friendly note, a hardy G'day to the Aztek settler we saw well underway to our borders. Our people look forward to being neighbours...
