Also we have recieved word about the certain "incidents" that have occured off the coast of Ireland. We are reviewing the matter and will come out with an official response to this later.

The PDRI utterlly rejects the Mayan claim to have had nothing aboard that Transport but a Diplomat. Where was that Diplomat heading, an Embassey was already established with Ireland and nothing lies to her South, and why was it felt neccessary to provide Escort in a time of Peace. That the chosen route should have taken them adjacent to an Irish City is also strange as it would normally be considered Diplomatic Protocol to ask permission prior to entering the territorial waters of another nation. The question still remains as to the reason for a Mayan Interceptor over Irish lands, no permission was asked for this and it must be known that it would never have been granted.

As for the allegation that the PDRI has employed espionage against Canada it is nothing but pure fantasy! When was this supposed to have occured? Why has no mention of it been made? What leads the finger of suspicion to be pointed at Ireland? The answer to all of these questions is absolutely nothing as it is pure fabrication, a tissue of lies that had been intended to provide the excuse for the planned invasion that has now been forestalled!

King Thor is holding a private meeting with the French Leader over the recent crisis between the Mayans and the Irish. The new Leader has clearly stated that Russia's commitment to the SFU will continue to be honoured and that once a decision has been reached SFU will hold a united stance.

Statement by Frazer of the Vikings:

Shocked by the recent opening of hostilities between the Irish and the Mayan – Canadian nations we are in a difficult time. A time for decisiveness.

Whilst the Mayans have never hidden their contempt from the ways of our people, they simply ignore us. Our relationship with the Canadians has always been good.

However we must remember the agreement we made in the distant past to the Irish. We are not going to be remembered for breaking an agreement that the Irish managed to keep, even through the Viking-English war that split their interests.

At the time of the Viking-English war however the Irish did not break their diplomatic relations with the English, instead they played a game of two faces, not being entirely honest to either side in the conflict.

I have commanded the increase readiness of our military forces. Should sufficient encouragement and support from our good allies come upon us we will reward the loyalty with Tanks, Marines and strong words. Should the current situation become no more than a minor altercation between the nations involved as we hope. We will not compromise our international reputation with rash action.

I have not yet ordered a higher readiness for our armed forces. They are patroling just as they did before.

Among other observations, a russian submarine was spotted.

Unfortunately, one of our tanks came too close to a german city - we shall leave asap and excuse our sudden apperance.

To the Vikings - though it might not be easy to believe. We will settle the great forrests between our nations, but we will do it with respect of your present cities.

The Russian submarine spotted by the English was patrolling the waters between the Russian and English Lands. Apparently these waters are heavily infested with English Battleships and our submarine is part of a small force assigned to keep tabs on the movement of these ships and make sure they stay in English waters.

The PDRI has never used, or needed to use, Spies aggressively. There was never any 'private
protest' over any supposed wrongdoings on our part and, despite repeated requests, an
explanation for the ever increasing monetary and scientific demands made of us was never
given. It should be noted that Citizen Edison is a devoted Party Member and it was from the
fruits of his labours that Ireland gained access to Space.

This whole story is nothing but a tissue of lies to justify a planned invasion which, when
thwarted, has been dragged out in an attempt to save face. The Mayans have already changed
their story twice and the very idea that an unmanned SotL could detect a Spy passes belief!

The PDRI has no intention of apologising for a crime that it did not commit and still less of
compensating an aggressor for his failed actions. To dismiss a Transport and a SotL as
insignificant is also deeply misleading. There could have been, and probably were, eight
modern Units on those Ships and a surprise attack on an isolated Irish City could easily have
succeeded. Once established such a bridgehead would have taken a long and hard fight to
dislodge as well as probably destroying the City itself.

Ireland has never initiated conflict with any nation and the German suggestion that the
'Peoples Army' is like a firecracker is unsupportable. The PDRI fears no nation, nor does it
engage in the issuance of empty threats but does possess, and will use, the force to backup it's
ideological stance. To be forced to resort to violence was sorrowful indeed to Party and
People alike but there comes a time when hard proof is needed to illustrate resolve for words
will no longer achieve anything.

Ireland hopes for the re-establishment of Peace with both nations and will forgive them their
moment of madness. Until such time as this has been achieved however the PDRI will
continue to defend itself vigourously though the Canadian statement gives us cause to hope
that it might not be neccessary to carry that defence onto Canadian soil. We wait to hear what
comes forth Chechen Itza.

In response, the Canadian goverment claims that it is true that a Canadian city was spied on. We suspect the Irish because of their close proximity to this city. But also just a simple check with our diplomatic/science department indicated that the Irish acquired the stolen tech (space flight) during the turn. The photo I supplied to each of you indicates the city is in fact in an alert state indicating dubious activities and also shows its close proximity to the Irish border.

It is true that we have been showering the Irish with requests for gold and tech. We did this instead of crying to the world because we didn't want to embarrass the Irish people world with their goverments criminal like behaviour. We assumed that if the misguided Irish wanted to quitely reimburse us for their foolish actions than we would forgive and forget. They refused all demands that we asked of them.

I then asked my Mayan ally to help me track down and capture this spy. I regret that once again the misguided Irish engaged in evil activities and decided to attack and maim our innocent ally. He was only trying to help me catch this spy. Plus he has every right to be concerned on how the Irish conduct themselves on their borders. I do NOT want war but I will support our Mayans ally 100%.

We are amused that the Irish go crying to world for help after their crime. For those of you who wish to support the Irish, it simply says to me that you condone stealing and tresspassing. You will get no sympathy or support from me in the future. When this happens to you we simply shrug our shoulders and turn away.

We realize that the photo supplied by the Irish propaganda ministry makes it look like Mayan/Canadians are the aggressors. We implore to you this is not the case, we moved into their waters in search of this spy and to let the Irish know that we will not tolerate this type of activity on our borders. This whole messy affair could be ended with an Irish public apology to our people. Irish reimbursement of lost Mayan property. Also since our people lost a tech to the Irish, the Irish could reimburse us with one of their own tech, for example Robotics. And as gesture of Canadian nobility we would share this tech with all other countries of this world. All we ask for in this justice and peace so that we can spare this world from further conflict.

A classical dilemma, someone is lying, but whom?

The age-old alliance between the Vikings and the Irish seems of no benefit to either nation. For the time being we remain trading partners, we need the money, the wolf is at our door.

The wolf comes in the form of English Marines who despite, their bird like leader talking peace, have crossed the border and entered Viking territory. The English are allies of our supposed allies, the Irish.

Fortunately a kind donation from our good friends the Canadians has enabled us to hurriedly recruit and train units at New Odense we are confident of repelling any English attack.

As a nation we are in a solemn mood as it seems the world is a large and unfriendly place and our ways of peace and co-operation are out of pace with the world.

Mr. Fraze of the vikings statement about the wolf has been subject to mild laughter in the counsil.

Yes - we WILL settle the great forrests. And yes, we WILL do it with respect of any EXSISTING viking cities.

We use marines, tanks and all other available units do investigate how much the viking settlements do cover.

No milatary units has been stacked in the area, we are "only" on alert and we has now signed the No Trespassing agreement, that the vikings presented to us.

Also we has signed a peacetreaty with the mayans - but we refuse to be slaves of the mayan. Therefore we has rejected their demand for isolating the irish people by making a tradeembargo against our brothers.

Our navy, heading for observation points has now been instructed to return home.

Message to leaders of the world.

We - the english people - are not harassing any other nation.

We have resently made a No Trespass with the vikings, a peace traty with the mayans, a traderoute with the slavs.

We do not wish to trash all this.

We simply seek land on our own continet for new settlements - even if this means we have to use huge ressources to make suitable places in the forrests - rather than wage war.

But we don't want to use the ressources just to see the place being settled right before our nose by another nation. Therefore our statement about existing cities.

As for our outpost on a foreing continent - as I wrote, it will not be settled though it has been "free" for use for very long time.

As soon as I am sure, the worldleaders has calm down and all had returned to a state of peace, we will be able to return to our land. As a sign of good will, the garrison will be reduced to half.

The only way to be sure, is to establish embassies with those neighbours, that has not allowed this yet - we are asking for permission to do that.
