We know they have AnimalHusbandry and Mystisism, which leaves 1 unkown Tech.

Added this info to the foreign datalinks. I'm also pretty sure the unknown tech was mining, due to the 2 point power increase at that point. The only other option is hunting, but then they would have used scouts instead of warriors.

    • Message sent with the above screenshoot attached and some spellchecking to the text. I'll keep being official Diplomat for now if no one else wishes to try it out.

I hope their reaction is positive and they accept the Marble City agreement and start to talk about their near-term tech and building priorities.

If they refuse to acknolage our claim then we should state we are prepared to backup the claim with military force if nessary and they are foolishly throwing away their best change to obtain marble in the future via trading with us and should very carefully reconsider their position.

If they still refuse to acknowlage it then we go silent on diplomacy to avoid escalation untill we have founded a city their (with some nice defence) and settled the issue by defacto, we might still trade with them if they had not made any real attempt to beat us too it but we would make them pay a lot more for it.

Perhaps ask MarkG to replace binTravkin as moderator by you?

                • I saw that screenie they sent to us - it's pretty bare next to their capital, loks like something has been erased from there.
Does anyone else have the same thoughts?

                  EDIT:
Can our first axeman be called "Maniac The (Axeman)"?
                  I think it's no problem

In fact all of us could have a unit associated just for the fun

Now you mention it, they researched animal husbandry according to our score spying and don't seem to have anywhere to use it.

                    • Looked at the patterns in the pic it seems original.

The problem could be the Desert area and tech level.

If you want to name units then please make a scout as Forester.

                        Yeah, was my thought too.

Patterns can be made to look original by copypasting a similar terrain - one just had to regenerate map for a dozen of times to get a river with approximately similar terrain, then turn grid on, crop tile by the gridline and correct where the bordering tile was not similar.
One can even make a similar map as a scenario, just without the feature he doesn't want to show.

It seems strange simply from logical perspective that they would put a base without any special resources in reach..

                        • I wonder if they are going to make that city into there food prduction center with grocery and market etc. so through trade they could get at us.

Didn't really get your point, how can one get at us through trade?

                            • Can't they just have researched animal husbandry in the hope to find horses ?

It would be stupid to change the map, knowing we had a scout very near. In the next turns we'll see if they lied or not, but I think we can believe them.

There are a few squares we wouldn't have a chance to explore - those right next to capital, and they were able to change those.

It would be much more stupid to found a city in a bare terrain without a single bonus and I actually doubt snoopy369 would have aproved such a start where we have rice and they nothing.

What speaks is also that they founded the capital without much thinking, most probably finding the spot good enough from the first sight:

                                4000 BC : 0039 : +026 : capital founded (+ 1 pop, + 1 wonder)
EDIT: just checked our start - wasn't so bright either..
Still, Im suspicious about the large bare space to south from their capital without a single resource, I think our chu-ko-nu's will clear the mystery well..
