  • Getting monarchy would lessen the utility of getting the pyramids.

How long would it take them to do so? Basically, anything over 45 turns is useless for us, right?

    • I guess so, but I think if they go for it now, they will get it in like 30 turns, they make some growth after all..

      • If they go for Monarchy, less need to build the Pyramids instead of Machinery of course. Though indeed, we should have info first on how long it would take to research towards Monarchy.

Edit: But then again, if we hurry Machinery research before they have Monarchy, they might get suspicious and cancel the deal. Dilemma...

Edit2: Oh btw, before making a proposal, we should ask Gathering Storm if they wish their research plan to be known to Banana.

        • I think sending the Bananas at Fishing and Sailing sounds great. They sound very willing to accept what ever we propose but they are again asking for full instant trading which we rejected earlier. I think we should again re-iterate our quid-pro-quo tech-4-tech method of trading. We already expressed this to Storm and they haven't objected.

We can hit Alphabet we trade Ironworking and Alphabet to Bananas for their Meditation, Priesthood, Fishing, Sailing. From Storm we get Masonry and Mathematics probably giving them the same techs we gave Banana.

When Metal Casting is found out we will need to mend fences (assuming we whent for Pyrimid and are delaying war) or make plans with Storm for our attack on Banana. In either case promising them some additional techs or territory or both may help. Depending on how things go we might consider an attack on them at some even more distant point probably sailing Gallies down the coast.

Also when we concour Bananas we should offer to have their remaining team members assimilated into AC, this bolsters our team and keeps them from going to other teams ware they might have an anti-AC influence.

Not much will be left to salvage in this aspect, I think..

Although I like relaying techs to others, I somehow think that offering Fishing and Sailing may seem insulting to them and although we plan to attack, we should keep good relations as much as we can.
What about offering Monarchy as alternative, or at least mentioning, that we 'would understand if they refuse to research those tech for trading with us and think of other proposal'?

            • We could say that we understand Fishing / Sailing aren't much use to them, and so offer a greater worth of techs in exchange...

              • It was always Team Banana's intent to bring our three nations together but word from the sky and snoopy369 made it clear that we could not mention GS to AC or AC to GS.
Also, I think this is not only wrong but unenforcable.

But just what would we give?
                  Alphabet?
I'd rather not give Iron Working yet. We should create an offer, so they dont have the chance to request IW.

They clearly want iron working. Without trade, they'll research it next (they might have already started it, in the last turn).

We can't tell them not to research IW and then not offer it to them

                    • Yeah.

Besides, with IW they'll do what? Build swords? Like our chukos will have any trouble with them

Swords are among the worst units you can build in MP...

                        • Impaler, could you prepare a trade proposal anytime soon?
The Bananas could be waiting on our response before their next turn.

It needs not to be long, just an aknowledgement, that we want to open trade (including tech trade) as soon as possible and only proceed to other agreements later, should trade go well.

                          • Do you think I should explicitly turn down their desire for each of us to volontarily give the other all their techs (their rather stupid to ask this knowing that our tech rate is better then theirs and this would be totaly unbalanced) or just ignore it and simply state our desire that they deviate from IW and towards either a Fishing/Sailing or Monarchy line for optimum efficiency and we will trade them IW.

                              • RESPONSE SENT

Greatings Diplomatic Banana, Impaler[WrG] seeks admitence to you conference chambers

We are most pleased that your people put such trust in us, we will strive to bring the blessings of the one
to all the people of....you know we realy do need to name this continent, do you have any sugjestions?

Ok back to the matter at hand, after considering the continents overall tech position AC has desided to
go for Alphabet as its next tech. AC can reach it first and this will get the trades rolling ASAP. To do
this we will be deviating away from our planned course of Fishing and Sailing so we were hoping
Banana could research these for us with the intent to trade them for IronWorking. Ofcorse we realize
that you have no uses for these techs yourself and if this is a deal-breaker we have an alternative which
is for you to go for Monarchy which in anycase would be the best follow-up to fishing/sailing. I belive
your current research is Writing and its close to done? AC expects to have Alphabet done in around
                                20 turns.
