  • Nice doggie, Beta. So far. Shame they have to grow up into smelly, snarly, in-yer-face things. (I prefer cats).

Well, he is a bit smelly now. But he does not and will not snarl, and he will be well-behaved. As to cats; I know what you mean. We have three.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

yeah, cats are nasty little buggers. good for nothing except hunting mice and spreading distemper

          • Easy there big boy. I share 4 cats with my wife and they are good for much more.

            You're leaving out:
banging on the bedroom door while you are trying to sleep in.
vomiting. random vomiting. hurling right after eating. hurling fur balls. and such.
            eating each others' vomit
            fur on effing everything.
vomiting on the guest bedroom's sheets before your parents come to visit.

BTW, they turn their noses up at mice (don't come in a can) but will never, ever come up with distemper thanks to ~US$500.00/varmint/year.

            They don't smell however.

            • SG, you slacker. Eat my dust. Pray for the private forum. Anybody else noticed that Horde is the only one with closed membership? BTW, I can post in any public forum.

Hi Golden Bear. Yes, we are not accepting new members at this time. We have a very active group of folks and are very fortunate in this. We are all looking very much forward to dedicating our palace soon. We are even contemplating a Sarantium wing overlooking the fertile green lands that we hope to have. Please come and visit, we will prepare a feast in your honour!

                Oh...and...cute dog Beta!

                • Yes, the dog is cute. I would say that cute puppy pictures make us happy.
And, since Sarantium is not sharing this abundant happy resource, we are inclined to aquire a source of our own.
                  ... somehow ...

I was just invited NOT to visit your pleasant homeland, but perhaps we will have a chance to see it close up at some point... we could be allies, for instance.

                    • Really? What force in the known universe could make two nations, otherwise enemies that would tear each-other apart, join forces to fight against?
                      ...
Um, what are you guys lookin' at me for?

We just couldn't have you over until we had a proper place to receive you. Soon Great Lord Golden Bear.

Allies? Now that would be a sight that would rock Apolyton! Hehe. We must discuss it over a large piece of roasted meat and a tall glass of ale once we meet in game. Hmmmm....a very interesting idea.

                          • Geez but that guy sounds like he could be one of youse.

Remember that we, at least, will be a very different team and culture from last time around.

Also, I am hardly "Great Lord." I never was before and on this team of veteran all stars I doubt that I will be allowed to do much more than post idle chit chat. You should be prepared to play with SERIOUS (say that in a deep and sonorous tone) players.

You will probably never hear of this peasant once the game starts.

Can we at least try to break the pattern of behavior from the last game? Sincerely?

Indeed GB. That is one of my goals for this game. Many very bad things came from misunderstandings caused by my inexperience and then things just got worse. That is the greatest of all things about this community...we all learn things here. I want Civ4DG to be a great experience for all. I am very much looking forward to learning from the Sarantium Serious Allstars! (said with deep and sonorous tone).

I do so hope that we will be able to enjoy some of your chronicles again this time around. Simply marvelous stuff!
