    hey, I've been gone for a month for reasons i'll explain in private if need be, what did I miss?

    I don't want to play on a mercenary team, but I have no trouble having another team do their mercenary thing.

          Yep - I'm still here. And it looks like the flurry of RL activity is easing.

          Btw - I am "no" on the mercenary team thing. Having a team that does not have the objective of winning as their PRIMARY goal, IMO, distorts the dynamics of the game diplomacy.

          For example, if they are the last civ standing - do they win. Even though every other team assumed that winnining was not the Mercenarie's PRIMARY goal.

          If their goal is to win, and this is their approach to it - fine - but then that seriously changes the approach.

          To me, it is not a whole lot different than playing for second place.

          As to landmass - someone mentioned random. That is not a bad idea. I still like Pangaea.

            For an icon, I suggest:

            Background (and team) colour:

            1. Dark Purple

            2. Gold

            Will have a Cyrillic S on the icon. White on the purple, black on the gold.

            Other ideas?

            A sword?

                I have now read about 3/4's of the book

                Why not a picture of the sun on a sheild? With our "mainstream" religion being Jad (sun worship) why not go that route???

                What does everyone else think? And do we have any photoshop guys who could do that make an icon? Or now anyone that could?
