I really want cho kos, but the extra engineer gpp, the culture (for defence), the civics and the build time of the pyramids compared with the research time of cho kos all make pyramids a better choice.

We're going to need machinery soon though, so when do we research it?

After Alphabet, we wil have 7-8 turns of spare research time, one of which we should be spending on Drama as the only option we're not going to trade in and others would be good for Monotheism/Judaism/Org Rel shot.
Once GE is done, we wil see if Pyramids are available - if not, pop Machinery, else build Pyramids and start on Machinery on the same turn or as soon as possible.

Do take into account that whoever wins out in the other continent will do his best to ally with the weaker (2nd strongest if more than two remain) civ over here against the strongest one.

If we make GS hate us, then we have no chance of talking them into allying with us versus the other side.

Also, I very much doubt they'll be in position to attack us even after they kill Vox... We'll have killed the nanas by then (even if we go the slow route, we'll have CKN's earlier than they'll have Cats, so we can kill of nanas and go block the ithsmus.

We will want to help Vox as much as we can without GS knowing it, and this could include gifting them a tech (which they could have 'popped') and gifting them free intel, but we certainly cannot help them actively in the short while.

We might want to talk to the nanas, even if they prove reluctant, as the fear of having a southern neighbour with twice the land could tip them over.

Bottom line, GS, even with Vox land, cannot realistically become automagically more powerful than us if we manage to take the nanas out. They have stalled growth for a while in order to choke Vox. Coming after us after vox will either mean they throw away vet units uselessly (unlikely) or continue to fall back economically in order to stand a chance to inflict lasting damage on us, which is dumb until they can confirm the other side is stagnating as well.

As I said there can be two scenarios after GS kills Vox and wants to use its vets:

          A. They attack nanas depriving us of LOTS of resources and territory, whereas they become productively the strongest on the continent and with their monopoly on elephant resource beating us back.

          B. They continue building up some troops and once they see us attacking Bananas, pour in to save them and ally vs us/take over what's left.

I don't really see how we can kill Bananas before GS kills Vox, while going the slow route.
The tech amount we need to research up to even building our units is 50% more and Bananas are much further away and stronger than Vox are (vs GS).

That's why we should try to help Vox as much as possible, without giving warning to GS.

We can send a galley with some troops to Vox.

Yes in the near term covert assistance is all we should offer them, only in the long term (after Banana Peel) should we be do anything overt to support them, a move by Storm could precipitate even more support.

The first matter is to see that they dont capitulate to Storm, encourage them to keep their defences strong and hold out as long as possible. At the same time we dont outright say we are conspiring against Storm as Vox members very well might join Storm if they are concoured. Our relationship with Storm is rather good now considering their initial paranoya, we should make shure we use that relationship to the utmost.

                        We have now

                        Hello

We would like to gift you an older screenshot of ours, in the wish for
further good relations between our empires. A while ago, our
civilization reached the classic age. Also, a while ago we attained a
                        military victory over GS.

Unfortunately, they still hold several of our prime lands and are
rampaging through our country sides. We have plans to push them off of
us, but could really use your support when those plans come to
                        fruitation in the future.

We have also shared this screen shot with Banana. It is a bit zoomed
out, but I can see most everything of interest on it. We wish you much
                        success and growth!

                          Wow, Vox pushing GS back
That's only temporary I guess but gives us some relief.

Nice map, btw, should we send ours?

I would. Anything to encourage them to keep fighting GS is good. Also, with GS now having three cities, it is possible they focussed a little less on crushing Vox the last turns. That might explain why Vox thinks they've pushed them back. GS probably thinks they've crippled them enough for now, and are not actively putting resources in the war anymore untill they get elephants and cats.
