Be sure to have a look at the GS and Vox score graphs next turn see if either lost power and if GS starts to move back to hammer production.

Now, should we send a diplomacy message as per the poll?-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

Message proposal:
-----------------
Dear Friends at Gathering Storm,
We're agreed with the terms you propose as the final in the Tech Trade agreement, but there's one minor thing that bothers us.
Due to lack of immediately available hapiness resources in our lands, we'd very much like to found a religion of our own as soon as possible.
We've also figured out that our research schedule after researching Alphabet is quite undecided and there's no very important tech to be researched immediately and quickly.
Therefore we've decided, that we should research Monotheism, which appears to be the quickest route to obtaining religion.
As you mentioned that you have invested in Polytheism quite a lot, it'd be very nice that you switch for a few turns and finish it first before Maths and be ready to exchange right when we finish Alphabet.
We understand that it's a change in your schedule and is not really desirable, therefore we offer a compensation in form of either Masonry(which we will be researching ourselves) or Monotheism transferred back to you, or an IOU sum of 150 beakers added to our tech exchange bilance.
We hope that you find such a deal appealing, if not, we're open for a quick round of negotiations, unless you're sure that you are not changing away from Mathematics, which we would understand and accept without anger.

I'd still ask them what their ETA would be for delivering Masonry and Polytheism if they switched to those ASAP, Polytheism is probably 1 turn research for them, remember they lost the race for it to Vox, probably by only a small amount. The compensation seems too generous for just Polytheism being traded a bit early. We were already planning to get it from them in the near future.
Their commerce is comparable to our own so I don't buy the analysis that its not possible for them to nail both techs in time or at least faster then we could do Masonry ourselves so at least propose it to them and state that the the 150 beakers is a BONUS on top of the beaker-4-beaker cost but make it conditional on us getting Judaism to motivate them.Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Okay, so you think, that our diplomation steps should be the following:
1.
- inform we would like to get Judaism
- ask if they can switch (how high they hold the importance of finishing maths asap)
- clarify their Masonry + Poly ETA
2.
- if they say they can't simply switch, offer a compensation
- if they say they can't manage both techs, we take Masonry (and could offer that as compensation)
- compensation - only a part if we dont manage Judaism
Right?
If so I can compile a quick message this eve.
Also, IIRC Masonry s 114 beakers, which means we need ~4 turns to do it, which means, we can wait for GS up until 4 turns before GE, which is 9 turns from now.-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

If they research both of them, they only have 4/5 turns to do so. Even if they can research that fast, diplomacy will have to be very fast too. I doubt this will be possible. We might be able to send a message soon enough, but they'll need some time to debate/poll/talk/... about it. In any case, make sure to list enough (equally valuable) compensation options in the message, so they can just choose one. We will not have time to send a few messages back and forth. Here an offer of monotheism is OK (~ 200 credits for a ~ 5 turn investment) .
If we do masonry ourselves, that gives them 7/8 turns to switch to polytheism for 1 or 2 turns. Diplomacy should be fast enough in this case. We could simply offer them to cancel half of the credits they would have to pay us (~ 75 credits for a ~ 2 turn investment).
Whatever offer you give, instead of saying we can give you monotheism, offer them the amount of credits and give the tech as an example. They might have other priorities.no sig

We understand that it's a change in your schedule and is not really desirable, therefore we offer a compensation in form of halving that 150 credit IOU we were talking about, when we discussed the techs to be exchanged. We figure that you need some 2 turns to finish Polytheism in which case 75 beakers would be appropriate compensation. This is of course subject to negotiation.
Also, note that due to time being short and you not being able (if you're willing to at all) to finish Masonry in time we will be researching that tech ourselves, thus that part of the tech deal will change.
We hope that you find such a deal appealing, if not, we're open for a quick round of negotiations, unless you're sure that you are not changing away from Mathematics, which we would understand and accept without anger.

We would be more than happy to finish Poly early and would glady accept your offer of a 75 beaker credit.
About Masonry, how soon will you finish Alphabet? Perhaps we could shoe horn that in as well.

That means we have 171/30 ~6 turns to do Monotheism, which means they have some 5-6 turns to finish Masonry if they switch ASAP.
I think they must have switched to Poly now, but we should ask.
I propose a following reply:
--------------------
That is indeed great news you are so forthcoming, centaurians are feeling very thankful.
We finish Alphabet in 4 turns (correct me here if Im wrong) and would like to start work on Monotheism as soon as possible.
If you could finish and trade both Masonry and Polytheism some 6 or 7 turns from now, that would be just excellent, but 8 or 9 turns wouldn't be a disaster either, we just hope we manage in time to grab the religion.
If you research and exchange both of those techs ASAP and due to that we manage to found Judaism, we'd be happy to erase that 150 IOU from the exchange agreement completely, if not, we'll stick with the trade deal we had so far, plus the offered 75 beakers cut.
We'd also be open to include Monotheism in any future deals, should you ask for it.

Greetings Centaurians
We felt that it would be good to reciprocate with your generous provision of a map of your near lands. We would never dream of sharing the shot you sent us with another civ and we would ask that you not share ours with any other civ either.
Large blue dots mark our cities. The red one to the East is The Voice. There is no path outside of culture between us and Vox. The smaller light blue dots mark a path around our borders.
We hope all goes well with you.
Regards

-> For the rest, good diplomacy work I'm a little surprised by the fast response from GS though... Either everybody is very active and responded immediately or they didn't wait for team input.
About the map: they have had less luck with goody huts (I clearly see a map-pop which revealed mostly ocean). I think we won't have much choice for moving the scout though, the path around their culture seems the only option for now.no sig
