thanks for the summary!

i've decided to pay the 30$ extra charge + the slightly more expensive cost and get it from EB-games. i wished i could order other stuff too without it being sent in seperate packages

ok, i've seen that you can also order from the take2games site. and shipping costs are "only" 17$ (13 less than at EBgames!) :

Amazon US has dropped the price of Civilization IV to $44.99.

This create an advantage over EB Games which still prices Civ4 at $49.99 and has a minimum of $2.49 shippping cost for US orders (as opposed to Amazon's free US shipping). EB Games though is still the only for ordering the Pre-Order edition from Europe.

We should note that all European (UK, FR, DE) Amazon stores offer free shipping or their respective countries (UK, France, Germany). Our Pre-Order guide has been updated accordingly.

but hang on... if you say EB games is the only pre-order for europe, why can i also order from C&B and directly from take2?

Incidentally, Amazon UK have been selling Civ 4 for £24.99 for quite a while now (not £29.99).

Chips&Bits doesn't react to my e-mail regarding the pre-order edition. I want to cancel my order and order the pre-order edition through another retailer.

Is it easy to cancel a C&B order?
They're not really helpfull with that through their website

You should not cancel your Chips & Bits order, or else Markos would have to pay back the 0.00173 cents he got for your click.

i didnt know about direct take2 orders until now

C&B only offers the retail version, not the pre-order one

actually we get $5 for each Civ4 order which we give to you in the form of a $6-worth, 3-months PLUS subscription

(the same amounts dont apply to amazon or eb games sales...)

will have the game before that date. You will receive the game according to the shipping method you chose
when placing the order. Therefore, if you picked "next-day-air" shipping, you should get the game on
10/24/05, if we receive the inventory according to plan.
