Which way would I go if I was Imperio? I would be tempted to take the black route as it would cut off Cape Town from road based reinforcements and I might be able to position myself in that forest. However, it would leave a counter attack option open for Cape Town units to sally against my Northern cities.

The one wildcard is boxed in blue: there is an Imperio worker building a road in the middle of the desert to nowhere. That is, nowhere except right into Templar territory! If Imperio's stack moves W/SW next turn, then they're likely planning a move against Templars. That would be wonderful for us, but seems unlikely.

Another option for the Imperio desert road is that it will head West just south of the two mountains and run up to our borders, so they can have their units in the fog, and attack Cape Town from the two-tile SE axis.
Also, maybe we should send the HA to check whether Templars have added a road into the forest 1 NW of Jericho to facilitate a move into our lands.

Another idea: At Cape Town, instead of chopping the forest and farming the grass 1SE, we could just have both workers start a farm on the forest tile. The forest will still be chopped by the time Imperio arrive and it is more efficient in worker turns methinks.

I'm undecided about the spy issue. The chariots are good for now but won't work when or if war is declared. If we want one then now is the time to speak out since something fishy has some good whip overflow and can build one if we swap this turn.

interesting...but why is the chariot on that tile? It could have seen Cape Town's defenders from 1NE from Cape town and move back into their borders, without us having noticed. Or didn't they know the tiles behind Cape Town?!?
I'm almost looking forward to that war...

Thats weird, especially as their spy already scouted those tiles a few turns ago (pillaging our copper). Maybe they think by having a unit on top of it, the chances their 2nd spy gets caught are smaller???
Or they do what I suggested we do, moving units to our northern border, where they can open a second front, once war is declared.
Or they are just plain clumsy.
I other news:
PAL and Banana traded Philosophy for Compass. Clearly Banana's Calendar goes PAL's way as well to even out the beakers. Harbors together with GreatLighthouse trade routes would be a strong move for PAL.
