      Patience guys.
We know what to expect by the forum admins by now.

I guess we will have one more year of fun out of this demogame, if everything runs smoothly.

Waiting for Banana to get back into the game is worth the wait.

I know, and we do need to let this sort itself out. But I can't stand the fact that no one seems to be in charge of this game, and the Apolyton regulars mostly want to sit around and do nothing rather than work to solve problems. That poor guy wants to take over Banana, and no one was even giving him access to their forums! Can you blame him for being frustrated?

If a couple of us hadn't started complaining, nothing would have gotten done. At least now the situation is moving forward again.

I wonder how long until the CivFanatics Demogame catches up to and passes this game. They started six months later, but I bet they finish first.

Since someone from Banana has logged into the game, I went ahead and unpaused it. We're (finally) under way again.

Interesting post from Will9 of Banana in the general forum:

I guess this is my fault I was supposed to be playing the turns, but I was unable to play the turns and forgot to tell anyone. Although, I'm back and I will try to help in rebuilding the team.
The turnplayer disappeared for over a month, and no one noticed?! Looks like Banana was a one-man team even before they dropped out. At best, they have 2 or 3 peiople right now. Sadly, I don't think we can rely on them for anything.

The role-playing Rabbits are the primary competition for PAL on the other continent?! Uh oh.

Ugh, hate to triple post, but wanted to mention something about organization. Having seen a number of successful (and unsuccessful!) ways to organize team forums in the CivFanatics Demogame, I'd like to try and pull things together a little better here. Instead of just editing the initial post in the "current actions" thread, from now on I'm going to make a new post for each turn with all of the relevant data. This way, all the old turns line up and form an archive that can be examined quickly to see past actions taken. It also helps a lot with organization too!

Remember, DO NOT POST IN THE STICKIED THREAD! Discussion still takes place in the normal threads. Please do consult the stickied thread for information though!

Where is the settler (growing at PD) going? I think it should go to Bad Ass to seal off that section.

Settler should go to the coast NW of Southern Marble, as we do not have the military to back up Bad Ass yet, but are fine with filling in backwater cities.

Stats for the turn to follow in the post after this one. First, the highlights for T91:

                    - Sharon found Uxmal, the remaining Imperio city. It was right where we expected it to be:

Yes, the city has three fish and two furs. No, this isn't even close to fair. For whatever reason, Imperio has the city working a river plains tile??? I dunno. I still don't think this team has done anything particularly special in this Demogame, aside from lucking into a godly starting position.

                    - Note the RBS Discovery nearing the eastern continent, and the Imperio chariot on patrol in the fog. I believe that we've pinned down their entirely military now! Will double-check on this later.

                    - We have barb axe trouble in the west!

Fortunately, Betty Hur is in pretty good position to take care of it. I moved on the red arrow this turn, and will move on the yellow one next turn. She should be able to kill the axe pretty easily, so long as we can fight the battle on flat ground. Hopefully we'll get another 2XP and open up Heroic Epic!

                    - We need to decide where to send the settler next from Pink Dot. It's clear that we want a spot on the west coast. The question is, which of these two should we grab:

My personal preference is for green (mostly because it has two clam resources), on the one assumption that we can eliminate the barb axe with Betty Hur and clear a safe path. If not, we should probably go for yellow, as it looks a little less risky at the moment.

If we go for yellow, we should move out Robyn Hood (the archer in Pink Dot) on THIS turn, to start clearing a secure path through the fog. Actually, we should do the same even if we go for green, just on a slightly more northern route...

                    International

                    - Imperio researched Mathematics this turn. They got it in a mere six turns, right after researching Monarchy. Their GNP this turn is 116, we are next closest with a mere 75! Their quadruple floodplains + triple gold starting position is really making itself felt. We simply cannot compete in the short run with the research. Thankfully, they aren't pushing for military right now. We HAVE to stretch the game out and hope we can overtake them with superior territory/production in the later eras.

                    - PAL's military rating shot up enormously last turn (T90). It's clear that their triple whips on T89 were all chariots, using our horses, and they probably built an axe as well last turn. Good thing they aren't on our continent!

                    - Mutal is up to 124 shields. (Lakamha finished its build, so it's not on another wonder. Looks like a library completed there.) We should fire off another email to PAL to remind them that Imperio did exactly what we said in researching Math, they have 124 shields towards Oracle, and they WILL slingshot Civil Service if they trade away Code of Laws.

                    - Oracle still on track for T95. Hopefully, Imperio either completes it early (no CS) or they get greedy and try to research CoL themselves. PAL trading it to them right now would be diasastrous...

                    - Complete turn stats to follow this post.

One quick note: I pulled off the Scientist at China Beach and swapped the citizen to a plains forest (1/2/0) instead. This allows us to grow in 3 turns, build the work boat in 3 turns, and whip anger duration ends in 3 turns. It does not set back Aesthetics research by a turn (still 5 to go).

Now the data for the turn. (I will post this each turn both here and in the Current Actions sticky. You can get the same info both places.)

I'm still not convinced Lakamha built a library. It showed 90 hammers last turn, which should be impossible - getting to 90 hammers would have completed the library and reset to 0. It's possible to show 90 on a whip from exactly 60 to 90, but MH said C&D reported no whip.

Also +36H on the previous turn is too much for a library; even with a chop, that city doesn't have +16H. But it could have +16 combined food and hammers.

I still think settler. Do we have C&D numbers for Lakamha's population over the last few turns - did it ever grow recently?

No library shows up in the city for Lakamha either, so settler is probably correct.

EDIT: The gold at Chichent Itza (Imperio) is also connected.

I guess it is safe to offer PAL the monotheism vs. CoL deal now?
Or is it better to hold back on it to prevent Imperio from getting a research bonus on it, as it will not benefit us right now?

I would prefer yellow dot, mostly because it can work a 3hammer tile without improvement, whereas green dot would need worker attention before it can work a proper production tile (the marble or a mined hill)

Where do we want to produce the next settler?
                              Again at Pink Dot?
Where do we want Heroic Epic?
I would say Cape Town. The additional 4culture will help against IMperio in the long term.

I think I'm favouring Yellow Dot because in addition to M_H's point about improvement, it will bust a larger chunk our Western fog than Green.

On the flip side, the Workboat would not make it down to Yellow for 9turns, whereas it can build at Green in 6t. (I think the city is founded in 5t either way?)

If we're moving the Archer out of Pink Dot, we probably need to follow the Settler with some more military from there.

The additional culture in Cape Town makes sense, but can we protect it if/when we end up at war with Imperio ... would a more interior location be a safer option?

We should hold off the CoL deal until we know what happens with Imperio - the research multiplier may be important.
