Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
we're up to 6 people and it looks like we may be able to get the round-per-day pace (well, let's say 5 turns per week)!
the bottleneck may be europe with 3 players... so it needs more discipline from us.
chrisiusmaximus: when would you play your turns? before cerberusIV (afternoon/early evening), between him and me (later evening) or after me (nighttime)?
paddythescot: great to see you so flexible. what's better for you:

before or after ricketyclik?
(we're speaking of weekdays mainly...)
also, please help me fill in the empty spots. we're missing two email-addresses (of the two british) and if the two new ones agree to random civs.
please everyone also check the first post to see if you agree with the settings.
concerning the patch:
1.15 is current, but 1.18 (coming out soon) would be better as it doesn't allow loading the games in SP.
should we a) wait or b) start with gentlemanly trust?
last, what do we do if someone starts off with a miserable starting location (like a very small island or plains without water access, etc)?

current proposed settings:
- standard map size
- continents?
- 60% water (higher chance of better starting terrain)
- 6 humans
- 2 AI on monarch level?
- everything else random

I generally play what I get, but if others have other ideas, let them speak now
can we choose civs ? I dont mind waiting for the patch if thats the concensus, though Im 1.12 ATM.
got sick of downloading all the patches that were coming out a whiles back.
I am online several times a day and can fire saves back morning evening or night time, so fit me in where you like. Though I say so myself I am very reliable.
A proud member of the "Apolyton Story Writers Guild".There are many great stories at the Civ 3 stories forum, do yourself a favour and visit the forum. Lose yourself in one of many epic tales and be inspired to write yourself, as I was.
if chrisius can play before cerberus (so finishing the turns by 8pm), it _could_ work.
paddy, you've got a bigger gap if you play before ricketyclik, but i don't know what time that would be in your time zone.
ChrisiusMaximus, so far, everyone has chosen random civ. but if you prefer picking a definitive civ, it's up to you ... but then there's no restarting, if your agricultural civ starts in an arid region of the world
1.15 is the current public (beta) patch. the next patch should be coming out this week but it could take longer... how about we wait until sunday, trying to agree on general stuff, and if the patch is out by then, we'll take it, otherwise 1.15?

One Turn per day would be a great speed. I agree CerberusIV, most PBEM's stall and lose speed... Yet this looks like a good and reliable crew... will be a shame to have to make vassal states out of your civ's,,, but these things happen

I would like to play prior to ricketyclik. I am online before him each day, and this way the save can be ready for him, and may assist us all in getting that elusive extra turn in some nights...
Also, I am open to set session times where we can knock over a heap of turns. This has worked very well in some other PBEM's that I am in. To assist in this I have MSN Messenger, just use my email address; and ICQ, click on the link under my name etc.
My family request 13:30 and 14:30 GMT off monday to friday... and that I get some sleep time etc , apart from that I am here, with one PC for the game, and another for work... a fair bit of the day / night.. my family label my work room 'A Dwarven Civ Centre...' not sure why really...!
--- --- ---
Is it alright to request a Civ?
--- --- ---
It would be good to start this PBEM with the New wonder patch... God bless FireAxis that they get this one right

If someone is really upset with their start position, I am happy to restart. Could this be brought to everyones attention very quickly.

can this work with 2 oceanians, 3 europeans and one western north american? time distance between the groups: 9hours, 9 hours, 5 hours.

ok, which one?

possibilities:
a) no restart
b) restart in the first year (after placing the city)
c) restart within 10 turns (when borders expand)
d) restart if 3 or more players request it
i'd vote for a) and d)
ok, gotta get my lunch...

I'll be playing a) but will vote for b) to accomodate the lilly-livered knee quivering brethren.
Not sure about set times, maybe one or two sessions at a weekend but...
I just downloaded 1.15 (at last) and am inclined to start with that and upgrade to the official patch when it comes out. It should be soon so we won't have got beyond our first cities anyway.
I am OK with a random civ but if we are picking then I would go for the Sumerians.
Restarting is a last resort. If we are going to allow it I would say within the first 10 turns and you post a screenie to prove how bad it is then it is a majority vote.
