The stories are being written by the Byzantian scribes but oh so little to tell at this time and place.

Tudhaliya was the youngest of the patriarchs having just inherited his father’s fortune. Like most youth he was ambitious but lacked patience, he was intelligent but consistently failed to study. In the end he chose his course of action at the peak of his anger and without council. He sent a few of his retainers and some thugs to intimidate the workers. The henchmen simply dragged the workers from their huts and beat them. That was it and it actually worked. Construction on the nearly finished granary stopped.
The old king was wise and respected, but it was the young queen who recognized what would be the result of mobs ruling the streets of Hattusus. She asked the King, always so grateful for her attention, to intervene before the feud between the merchants and the patriarchs resulted in more bloodshed.
It had been so long since he had addressed his people that his voice had grown weak so the crowd strained to hear the frail whisper of their leader. It was his divine decree that the granary was to be completed. To assuage the wounded egos of the great families the king added that it was a gift from them to the citizens of Hattusas, but Ahimelech and the merchants were happy let others have the glory as long as they got the profits. When the cheers finally died down the queen nudge the drowsy old man so that he could continue. The granary was to serve as a Temple to Antu and as such would need a High Priest. To the amazement of the patriarchs, he named Zidanta to this post. Muwatalli knew he was wisest; Labarna and Arnuwanda saw the adoration of the crowd and assure themselves that they were still the most respected; Tahurwaili hefted his coin purse to remind himself that he was the richest and Tudhaliya looked with disgust at the wrinkles and grey hairs of the others and coveted nothing but his youth. Zidanta smiled slyly at them because he was the most ruthless. That is why he felt no shame when his eyes met the queens’ and they shared the secret furtive glance of lovers.
Many wondrous tales come back to our people from the sailors so far away form home shores, distant lands further than one mans imagination , further than any horizons previosly observed. Great towering cliffs of ice and snow have been seen now for many a year, it seems the further south the expedition goes the colder the winds and the icier the seas become.
Soon another explorer shall set sail from our home waters in search of new lands and peoples, though these brave souls will sail north west.
It is also a time of expansion here in Byzantium as a party of settlers heads out to found a new town, many years has this been the hope of the people to spread our influence over the darkness that shrouds the land.
