Yup - that was the original thinking. With a good set-up - we can get in a turn a day.

Actually con - with your absence lately - I was waiting to hear if you were still in. Just to make sure before we started. Will now send the info to SR. He awaits patiently. Almost as patiently as all of you.

As to contact rules - the standard rule is that you cannot discuss strategy - or city planning - or anything out of game - until you meet in game. That is not just an iron civer rule - it just makes sense. At least to me. That being said - the aussies et al have already discussed starting techs - so that is fair game. It was probably pretty obvious anyway.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

            • Just wait until we've met in-game... then we can have all-night irc sessions

And make sure Sir Ralph knows to put us close enough together so we meet reasonably early, eh? Don't want it to hit 1000 BC and not have met everyone ...

Ah, so you're planning to be as unco-operative and obnoxious in this game as you are in 2x4?

                  • The diplomatic skills of myself, the energy and enthusiasm of Paddy, the hard work of Aqua and the extremely important glimpse into the mind of the North hemispherite from McM (he's from a former Imperial nation too!).... you guys are DOOMED.

I'm gonna sing the Doom Song now!

Doom doom doom doom doom, doom doom doom!

Doom, doomy doomy doomy! Doom! Doomy doomy doomy........

Discuss whatever, except what we are doing with our own civ until contact is made. I would think we should be allowed to send screenies to each other after meeting too, as it's nothing we can't get from verbal descriptions to each other anyway.
                    Consul.

Back to the ROOTS of addiction. My first missed poll!

                      • Maybe 1 day an immigrant, for now just a mere wannabe Ozzie from the Netherlands. I'm one of those "Vander" guys (allthough it's spelled as "van der"). Lived in Brisbane for half a year during a traineeship in 1998 Travelled around Australia in 1998 after the traineeship (East coast and centre) and 2002 (West coast).

So I know about vegimite, Tim Tam's, XXXX, rugby union, cricket, surfing, swimming, "slip, slap, slop", box jelly fish (no visual), dugongs, kakkatoes, roo's, wallaby's, wombats (no visual), koala's, platypus, echidna's (no visual), thorny devils(no visual), Quiksilver, Ripcurl, Billabong, 12 apostels, Uluru, Purnululu, "Beautifull one day, perfect the next", "the nature state", "the garden state", Waltzing Mathilda, INXS, Midnight Oil, Icehouse, Crowded house (50% NZ, 50% AU as I was told)and a few more Ozzie things...

I've never been to the US and am not very keen on going there anyway. Allthough I'd like to see a bit of the country, I have something against the average American. They're so full of themselves. Let's get on with the trash talking..!

                        • Well whats this nonsense about you being from an "imperialist country"?

We Americans are so full of ourselves because we CAN BE!

We being the most powerful and by far the most important and relevant country in the world.

                          • The Dutch founded New Amsterdam, now known as New York, where references to our nation are still found: like Harlem (Haarlem) and Brooklyn (Breukelen). South Africa is a former Dutch colony and their language still has Dutch influences. The saddest word in history unfortunately also is Dutch (apartheid). Indonesia, Suriname have been part of the Monarchy up untill the last century. Some islands in the Caribean still are. Australia was first sighted by a Dutchman. Imperialistic enough?

A true American speaking up. Most powerfull, relevant and important? The biggest threat to world peace I'd say. What right does a nation have to decide what's best for another nation? Not 1 time but all the time the American opinion is forced upon anyone else. A true democracy might be a just form of government, but America has basically a 2 party government where the run for presidency each 4 years is a money eating soap. How on earth can you ellect a stupid like Bush twice? Because propaganda works on the even more stupid average Joe? Domestic problems are abundant but taxes are spend on propoganda and weapons and speach spilled on pointing an Uncle Sam finger on the rest of the world....

This situation WILL get out off hand. This WILL be a clash of the continents... Bring on the game!!!!!

don't worry about things you have no influence on...

Yes historically I agree the Dutch where an Imperialist power but no longer.

America is of course the only true Imperialist power in the world
