I would have no problem with this if you actually followed what was posted in the first post when this thread was established... But this is now just a pure +1 thread, and has NOTHING to do with Civ III.

So unless you go back to game discussion, this will be toast... and I will unfortunately have to start handing out some PCR's... In addition, I would also delete the thread, meaning none of these posts would ever have counted...

I took this on advice of our well respected and often liberal allowing moderator/staff member Rommel2D about opening my very own establishment

Come over while its doors are still open
I am not sure if I need a licence to thrill or not but we gonna have some fun anyhoo

Looking forward to all coming, all are welcome there, please bring forth the humor..I got me some good clean fun loving jokes to keep it light-hearted

Who thinks the CIV 3 forums are on a down swing? IMHO I think the activity in PBEM, AU and Demo games has dropped noticeably in the past year or so.

How fast will that accelerate with the release of CIV IV? Will CIV III hang on as long as CIV II did?

Ming, I find you extremely fair and with a tough job to do.

I respect the decision and meant no harm what-so-ever in any posts and put a disclaimer on the post accordingly.

Whoa, this place has certainly livened up since my last visit, with a several appearances by the gods, no less

It would be a real shame if the Tullamore was closed due to certain unwelcome fundamentalist views being put forth....especially since many of us serious gamers have used the Tullamore as a place of rest and respite, coming into the establishment weary and battle-scarred with our mud-spattered longcoats, ready for a pint of ale and some of Paddy's famous cheeses as refreshing victuals after a hard day in the field slaughtering opponents.....

Let the Tullamore live on as a gamers' establishment!

I agree. That is how I stumbled onto the Demo game and PBEM in first place.

I have been a lurker and occasional poster for years here. I followed the CIVIII strat thread daily... but then it started getting fewer posts and certainly fewer new and interesting ones.

PBEM and the Demo games may be the last legacy of CIVIII here pretty soon.

Somebody said that CIVIV will be released October 24th. Is that true? Could we really have the disks in hand 2 weeks from now? Oh, and the first patch 2 weeks and 6 hours from now?

Did the Irish Coffee and rolls help you come to that conclusion?

And yep its less than two weeks to the latest and greatest "official ship date".

I dont think CIV III will linger as long as CIV II, but I could be wrong.

I don't know about the lingering-ness. I enjoyed CIVII but I have loved CIVIII from the day that I first picked it up.

The graphics, the animations, culture areas, culture flipping, corruption, diplomacy, I love it all. I love the sound of the French musketeers - "unh-huunnh!" I love the Turkish horsemen (Janisseries?).

Having said that, if CIVIV just builds on these things and extends it, then I'll probably drop CIVIII except for the MP games.

So con, are we going to PBEM when we get our IVs? I'll probably learn the game faster that way.

C3C PBEM will still lumber along. Don't forget, it will take us a fair bit of time to work out how to play CIV properly....especially those fanatics among us who have stupidly found a life over the last year or so and no longer have the time to learn every algorythm the game possesses

You NEED to go to EB this weekend and preorder .

Im working on a cooperative game with Beta, all we need is a fourth. And we can all use it as a learning tool in more ways than one
