I'm not sure where you got the idea that this forum needed a deputy moderator, but I can say that the effort is not appreciated by myself, even if done for 'comic relief'. Just because an occasional disclaimer is thrown out that the subject matter is intended as 'humor', does not make it objectively funny. As for the topic of discussion for this thread, I originally asked Paddy to start it because the absense/admin thread had more social talk in it than information. There have been no traffic laws on what should be discussed here. I've tried to limit my actual moderating actions to maintaining what I figure the general standards of the Apolyton Site are. Anything more specific is of course my own opinion, open to criticism. If anything I say here seems out of line, please seek the opinion of Ming and/or the owners- I'd be curious to hear from them but don't wish to bother them if not necessary.

The bar theme and subject matter therein seem wholly appropriate to me because, besides the obvious socializing implications, alcohol has often been the focus of various themes in the history of civilization. For good or ill, it certainly has many adherants to a multitude of philosophies. I come from a family of "alcoholics". A grandfather, father, and stepfather; a teetotaler, a well-adjusted social drinker, and one now beyond such concerns due to other factors. To me, there is no absolute judgement to be made about liquor itself, it is about various forms/levels of moderation- a natural subject for a good conversation.

If, however, complete abstinence is your chosen approach to drinking (and mere discussion of the subject moves you type posts about how you're not complaining ), I'm wondering what you are even reading this for? There are an endless number of other discussion threads and forums at this site. If you'd like to focus on the PBEM community, I'd be happy to top a 'cafe' or 'pickle-barrel' thread in the tracker forum if you wish to start one, just like I did for this.

I have cleaned up my act, my posts with inappropriate offensive pictures and explained my views on double standards..or the pc term would be perspective?

Drawing an analogy between discussing drinks and discussing fecal matter strikes me as totally inane. As I pointed out above, alcohol has played a huge part in various ideologies in history- biological waste is basically just something people learn to deal with. I drew an analogy between your picture above and the South Park cartoons because, IMO 'potty humor' is done by those too dim-witted to find anything more entertaining than breaking simple social taboos. I was hoping you might catch a subtle hint and remove the picture of your own initiative. Despite your mention above of such an intention, last I checked it was still there. Please remove it or I will seek out Ming's opinion of the whole subject.

[edit: BTW-although the last picture seems to me primarily more wasted bandwidth, my guess is that the PC authorities you seem worried about would label it 'racist'...]
