I know this is a sxn game, but do we have any common goals here? Peaceful victory? Are we trying to not build a wonder?

What is up with this AI? Everybody is at peace. Should we take advantage of this to go for a culture victory, space race? What ever we decide to do we look like we are losing!

lol We're not doing so badly, actually - notice we have the highest population of any civ. We're not a high culture civ, but our power is rebounding and population is one very relevant factor in who should be winning at this point in the game.

My general theory is to work up to the point that we can conquer the continent to our east, and then build that up a lot. That's the nearest area that we can easily take ... I think if we take that we have a much larger area to play with...

Well done, very well indeed.

I have one note on technology, though. In general, you don't want to be researching something the others already have. Go for other techs, so you can trade, and suck their treasury dry. This is the way to win Civ3 games.

Looking at the initial save, and the discussions in the thread. I had 2 primary goals, ONE build the FP and TWO grab more land on the eastern continent.

For the first goal, I chose Kahnawake as the FP city. I started on the FP, immediately. I will be adding workers (built in surrounding cities). If we have a GA (which is likely), it will be completed on my turn.

To reach the second goals, we needed an offensive force, ships to transport, gold to upgrade (warriors to MI), exploration of the continent.

So away we go, I will just give you the highlights.

Spain asks for a Peace Treaty, which I grant. We will be warring with Korea, and I want Spain on my side. Besides, we are in no position to fight, right now.

Renew the Ivory deal with ? (someone). I traded a tech and some gold.

We discover Invention, which ? (someone, I need to work on my note taking), does not have. We trade Chiv. for Invention, 325g, and 2 gpt. I would like to upgrade some of our MW, but 120g per upgrade is steep. I shutdown our research for a few turns.

Our troops are assembled (3 MW, 5 Knights, 2 Longbow, and 7 MI). I need to position the armies to attack Chonju and Taejon. Hopefully, Spain will join us for a reasonable price.

War begins with Korea. We immediately take Chonju and our GA begins. Signed Mil. All. with Spain (18gpt, and 145g). We are cranking out approx. 240 gpt. I've restarted our research (Theo. in 8t).

Take Taejon. Ulsan is next.

Take Ulsan, but not for long. There is an army (which I could not see before), which should take it back (for a short time). Our Horse trade has run out. I'm OK with our the horses, so I did not renew.

Ulsan was lost, and then retaken....for good. FP was built, so we get another economic boost.

I did a few troop movements, and then realize that my turn was over. No harm, I only did the first few moves, but no attacks. In any case, I apologize.

I'll leave it up to the next person to decide how to continue the war. Korea is wanting peace and will give us 3 cities, but they are probably worthless. Spain is fighting hard against Korea, which is very good for us.
