  • I thought so about Markets, but most cities could still go on without, and there's currently only one lux to be boosted anyway. I added some Granaries, as you can see. Better late, than never.

It's 10 more turns. Here's hoping for Economics. We'd be doing even worse with other techs, as far as I can tell.

    Playing now.
    Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

    • hehe ... hope so.

The -95gpt was what made me do it, actually. I couldn't afford 30% luxuries ... and during the end of the Korean War, WW was at huge levels, I had to run 40%, which of course was horribly stinky...

        • Korea gives us a Worker for Saltpeter.
        • The Aztecs declare war on the Spaniards. Uh, oh, maybe that's our chance. If Spain starts loosing this war, I'll be sure to pick up a town or two.
        • Spain invites Persia to the party. Persia declares on the Aztecs. Fun and games.
        • Sumeria asks Spain to join another party. Spain declares war on Arabia. The AI seems to organize it's own mess. I think this is why no really good gpt deals happened - most are in Monarchy, not Republic.

        • The AIs have Navigation now. We could trade for luxuries with Carthage. If we had anything for sale.
        • The Aztecs ask for an alliance against the Persians. But they can't afford it.
        • Germany takes another Korean city.
        • Carthage finishes Sistine Chapel.
        • Sumer finishes Bach's.
        • York (English) finishes Copernicus Observatory.
        • Madrid (Spanish) finishes Magellan's Voyage.

        • I sell our World Map around. Not very good, but it keep the research on Economics going. Otherwise, I'd have to delay it by a turn. I don't want the situation with Banking to repeat itself.
        • A second city joins Knight production. Salamanca does one every 4 turns.
        • With all current wonders gone, Niagara Falls will start a prebuild for Smith's or Newton's in 4 turns, right after finishing the University. We might have an actual shot at one of those.
        • I really want to know, so I establish an Embassy with Sumeria. Take a look.

          • I start moving units closer to the Spanish border.
          • Persia and Sumeria sign an alliance against Arabia.

          • We did it. First to Economics.
          • For Economics we get Physics, 100gp, 20gpt, Gems from Carthage.
          • This discovers the fact, that the AI has Theory of Gravity already. Apparently the only thing that stops them from building wonders is war. But, nobody will sell it, at least not without 50gpt, which I'm not paying them. We have many Libraries, and few Markets, so we're better off researching things on our own.
          • For Banking and Physics we get a World Map and Navigation from England. Sumeria IS a badass KAI. If they ever get Hospitals, it won't be pretty.
          • For Economics we get Dyes and 270gp from Sumeria. They gave very little, so I think they were close to researching this one. Really close.
          • For Economics we get 25gp, 52gpt, Territory Map from Arabia.
          • For Economics we get 10gp, 19gpt from England.
          • For Economics we get 15gpt, World Map from Korea.
          • Lux slider to 0% (3 specialists needed). 495gp in treaasury, Magnetism in 5 turns at 90% science with +74gpt.
          • I rush remaining Temples in conquered lands, and start upgrading units.

          930 AD
          • There are way too many Germans traveling through our lands, so I decide to sign a ROP with them. I want to keep aggression down as much as possible.

          950 AD
And so it ends. Not much happened in those last turns, except normal building. We have 4 cities making units now.

Good job with economics looks like we'll do ok on the tech race after all.

Sure, just make it diferent from the ones played.

Or would you perhaps like to join us here? We need to replace Paddy, you know.

                          • Hey, the history is in this thread. And you don't have to follow any directions. Although we are sometimes discussing things, each player is free do do as he chooses. So, if you want to play - go ahead. The recent save is only a couple posts up.

                              • I'll try to head off another big delay.

I'm pretty sure that Sabrewolf said thanks, but no thanks, which is fine. He may not even check this thread, so we should continue. In which case, it is skrobism's turn.

Sabrewolf (if your listening), I wish you would reconsider joining our little game. There is not much past history to swallow; just review the most recent turn and do as best as you can.
