*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta
AD 650: Cleared out around Teotihuacan (which I can also now spell!), not much else.
AD 660: Weird bug - i accidentally tried to attack with catapult from Teotihuacan, ended up that it told me " you can't attack with that" and attacked with my MI underneath the cata instead. Weird ... i won though Clear out some "trainer" units (so called because they are poor defense good offense, ie MI/Swords, stuck in plains/grassland, easy targets for my MI and effective to train them with since they're high value = more promotions!) get an elite MI out of it.
AD 670: Lose an MI to another MI; he gets wolloped by one of our MIs when I get my chance. Get ready for Prince Edward to take Tlacopan; he loses 3hp to a SPEARMAN IN GRASSLAND ... sigh ... take a few extra turns to breathe. Rush library in Teotihuacan.
AD 680: Nice little force in New Port Annie starting to be able to take Texcoco or at least do it serious harm. I hope... some more cleaning up of bad guys near Teotihuacan...
AD 690: Spanish are starting to go inside our borders with a couple units, including a MI... warn them off. 3 turns to the Invasion of Texcoco, give or take 1. Will have 9-10 MIs at least, with several being Elite; several horsemen, a bunch of Trebs, and some 5-6 pikemen to take the city with. Piece of cake, right?
AD 700: Spanish keep coming into our territory ;( and declare war on us, even worse. I may pacify the Aztecs temporarily... moving towards a policy of "Take what I can Get Now" ... Texcoco will be ours, muahahaha. Also try at Tlacopan; kill one pikeman but almost lose Edward but he's ok, but I'm giving up on Tlacopan for now.
Many cities finish MI this turn, they will be redirected towards Spain; Texcoco will be taken hopefully 710...
AD710: Mount Snoopy and Teotihuacan pikemen both valiantly repel MI attacks.
War on Texcoco: First MI dies to Pikeman, 1 hp reduction but promotion. Elite MI kills same pike, no promotion. Elite MI dies to spearman, no reduction, promotion ... vet MI dies to same 4/4 spearman, 1hp reduction, but promotion to 4/5. SuperSpearman (Several treb attacks before on the pike all lost. RNG stacked against me today.) Vet MI kills same spearman, 3/4, now 4/5 promoted. Vet MI kills spear 3/3, now 1/4. Vet MI kills 3/3 spear, now 4/5. Vet MI kills 3/3 spear, now 2/4. Vet Horse kills 3/3 spear, now 2/5. Vet horse retreats 1/4 from 3/3 spear (3/3). Last MI attacks spear 3/3, wins, 1/4. Vet horse retreats 1/4 from 3/3 spear (2/3).
So, Texcoco is short 7 units, and has at least 2 more (one wounded spear and the fresh one I can see). I'll have to recharge this turn, probably not attacking at all, and waiting to next turn to attack again...
AD 720: 5/5 Pikeman stands valiantly again in Mount Snoopy against an MI (he's got plenty of backup now anyway, including a wall). Other minor action outside Tlacopan, pikeman survives.
Texcoco: Bombardment from 4 trebs reduces the 3 defenders each a hp - so only a 2/3 pike, and 2 2/3 spears. So I attack on 4/5 MI kills pike now 1/5. 4/4 MI kills 2/3 spear, 3/4. 3/5 MI kills 2/3 spear, and Takes Texcoco!!! along with 9 (nine!) workers. I go ahead and keep the city, might as well. One Swordsman outside killed by 2/4 MI now 1/4; 2/5 MI dies to 3/3 MI outside (bad luck, ah well)... but we hold Texcoco with a good sized force. Now perhaps Peace with Aztecs will be possible in the short term, allowing a war with Spain?
Peace with Aztecs is gained, for now. Don't expect it to last. (Well, it's up to my successor really - I will keep it at peace until I am done in a few more turns.)
Incas: I offer them RoP; accepted. Moves them to Annoyed from Furious. I offer 1gpt-accepted; hoping to bring them around and encourage a second ally against Spain (and also encourage them to sell us techs, since they're ahead of us)... planning a daring maneuver, as well (you will see) ...
AD 730: St Simonsville is TAKEN by the spanish, in a bit of a non-surprise (they had MI in Vitoria, I couldn't maneuver defenses that fast). Attack with the 2 horsemen than are produced; first retreats with no change on the 3/3 MI; second wins, promoted to 2/5, RETAKES St Simonsville. Temple rushed in Texcoco, to make sure we keep it.
AD 740: Spanish move towards the empty York (emptied to initially protect Mount Snoopy). Towards, not into, being the vital difference; now they're off of the mountains and in the plains. Yummy. I could totally use this exploit on purpose, as it seems to work BEAUTIFULLY, but I don't generally, and didn't on purpose here. But it works. Knight killed, MI killed, Swords killed, 2/3 swords is all that's left of the attacking stack, and i didn't want to risk anyone getting next to the OTHER stack...
AD 750: Usual fine defensive work in Mt Snoopy. Knight kills itself attacking a MI (wow!), other knight kills our horseman that killed the knight in 740. Not a bad trade- a horseman for a knight... MIs kill swords 3/3 and knight from above 3/3 (backed against the seaboard, no retreat!)
I'm going to stop here. I'm tired, and 10 turns will do me fine (though 15 is the standard - i'm letting the game catch up to where Con et al stole a few extra turns, anywho, or something like that.) I'll email it down the line - and we'll continue!

Oh yeah, and the surprise I was planning? Take the 4 galleys (soon to be 5) from York, stick them 1 square outside york (3 from york) and then wait a turn (load them with MI/trebs/pikemen). Next turn - 4 squares takes you to Toledo, smush the city, raze it, and come back. Scares the Spanish.
Oh, and one more thing- I convinced the Mayans to help us out. Now I don't think they'll do a whole lot - but maybe Spain will attack them?
