Beta it's all good we're close enough to a real turn order that i'm fine I'm going to suggest we all follow the main order from the 1st page of this thread, and email the save to the next person. If we get the turn order wrong, it doesn't matter too much, but only email it to that person (You can still post it, please do in fact, but only play the emailed save.)

I had a very busy weekend, Im behind in a bunch of PBEM's, complicated by the fact that I got Pirates! last week and Im hopelessly addicted to imbibing in strong drink and consorting with lewd women. Arggggggggh!
Ill pick it up next go around.
*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta
lol C64 sounds fun ... sadly I never had one first pc was an X86 with a whole meg of memory, 1/3 of which was useless of course ... ever play Bouncing Babies?

II I believe. This is a slower moving game (which is fine by me - AU Mod version of Huge is taking me FOREVER every time I get around to it, my last 15 turns took like 5 hours to play, too dang on much military, and we're the dominant force)

More to come. It was slugfest all the way. But we made some headway. Played through to 650ad - 15 turns. Will post the write up and screenshots tonight. Save sent to snoop and con.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.
At war with the Aztecs - and will be for the entire Reign Of Beta II, often known as Bloody Beta. First of all, hats off to my predecessors. We have a good thing going here.
Killed 3 wounded swords. Also killed the wounded spera wandering in our interior to the south - but it cost us a horse.
4 Aztec more Aztec swords die on the walls of New Port Annie. But a pike and MI are killed NW of Iron Mountain
490ad
Healing. And preparing for an assault on Texcoco - the bain of English existence.
And the Incas and Aztecs sign a peace deal. Bummer.

Great Leader - Edward - results form a victorious combat, the killing of another sword adjacent to Iron Mountain (IM).
The attack on Texcoco is unsuccessful. One of their spears and on eof our MI's die.
510 and 520 ad
Edward builds an army in IM. (yes - he is a military leader) - consisting of two MI and one pike.
More bloodshed around Texcoco - and it does not fall.
More swords killed around IM.
I'm using the cheesy seawall tactic to block galley landings on the western coast.
530ad
see the pic
We are under serious siege - as the Aztecs move up some 20 or so swords.
540ad
We need cash - Sumeria gets Philo in exchange for 21 gold(they are some 7 techs behind - so no big deal)
Arabia gets currency - we get 94 gold.
Cannot get Mono from Queen Isabella, nor can I get the Spanish or Incas to ally against the Azrtecs.
Major tactical victory this turn - 6 of their swords die trying to kill one MI in the woods. This is about the only good RNG luck we get in this entire campaign. I had two elite MI's die against 3hp swords.
They are hsesttant to attack pikes on mountains or fortified in Iron Mountain - the AI clearly knows the combat calculator pretty well.
560ad
The war continues. Thank the godz we are in monarchy.
Renegotiate for gems - get it and 64 gold for literature - which we finished a few turns back. Now researching invention - but very slowly. Using cash for rushes and upgrades.
570ad
Still tons of swords in the mountains around IM. This is the kind of war with the AI that I hate. You keep hoping you are going to have that breakthrough turn - and it turns into straight attrition. Our entire economy is producing units - trying to sustain the losses we are taking. But something has to give. With the Aztecs pushing hard to put swords into and over the mountains, Edwards Army, along with 4 catapults, one MI, and two pikes forges the other way into Aztec territory.

Edward, the Black Prince, takes Teotihuacan.
After the numerous attacks on Texcoco, it is gratifying to take a city. edward and company set up camp - and proceed to mow down any Aztecs who get close. The combination of 4 catapults - and a two MP army make quick work of anybody who comes adjacent.
I am concerned however - about cultural conversion - the city is close to their capitol - and they have a sizeable culture lead.
and btw - when we took the city - we got 6 workers as well.
600-630ad
During this period - I have had to do some pike rushes in New Port Annie to keep the defences up. The Aztec swords poured down out of the mountains into our interior plains. Fortunately - they also came down as several small stacks. The plains became the killing fields.
Over the next several turns, MI, horse, and the occasional archer all contributed to taking out stacks of 3-6 Aztecs swords and spears. Having pikes on defence proves invalaubale, and more Aztecs die trying to take our interior cities - or forted pikes protecting counter-attacking MI's.
By 630ad, the job is done - and the interior is free of Aztecs. It would have been interesting to see how many we killed in total over the last dozen turns.
610ad
Of note - the Americans - (Who are they???) are destroyed.
And the first Aztec pike shows up in Texcoco. But that is the only one we see.
Also during this period - the three Aztecs galleys which sailed along the coast for so long - finally dropped a sword and jag warrior next to London. They were killed by our Med Inf.
630ad
Building 3 galleys and a trebuchet to deal with ethe Aztec galleys - but they sink our forted regular galley.
The other two galleys arive on the next urn - and fortify to defend London Bay.
640ad
Resisters in Teotihuacan are finally suppressed, and a temple is rushed to help with the culture.
I STRONGLY SUGGEST A LIBRARY IS ALSO RUSHED AS SOON AS WE CAN.
Also note that their is a settler in IM set to go - along with a reasonable military force. They may be tired, but they are stillset to go.
The same cannot be said for Prince Beta. An arrow to the hip ended his days in the saddle - and given the continuous state of war - he knew that the throne should be turned over to the next warrior King. Beta commits to adminstering the barracks of London, and turning out disciplined and determined soldiers.
Hera are some pics:
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.
Note Edwards army in Iron Mountain, and the pesky Aztecs galleys down the coast.
The sige of Texcoco does not fare well.
And we fortify a pike on our iron supply. At some point later in the conflict - I have some 6 pikes forted on this spot. Mind you - there were about 15 swords adjacent to them.
