The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

Of course there is no problem. Firaxis have already answered questions on this and have stated that it runs fine on Windows 2000 where they did a lot of the programming and work on producing the game, that the same applies to Windows XP and of course no problems whatsoever with the Windows 9x line of operating systems (although now effectively dead)

IIRC, there was a thread by a fellow who had the game and had loaded it on two OSs, one being ME and the other 2000 I think, and he said it ran better on ME. I recall there was lots not any scientific research on which OS worked better here, he just sort of made the comment in passing. It sounds like it will run fine on ME.

Not that it matters now, but I have a P4 1.7Ghz, 512MB RAM, 78GB HD, GeForce3 64MB, blady blady bla. My drivers were all up to date, everything was fine. I had compatability issues with some older games and the simplest solution was to revert to the universally recognised OS - Win98!
