there's a large number of horiffic events throughout history, and i'm not one to ignore them.
There's a very distinct difference between not ignoring horrific events in history and savouring them.

i despise people that only wish to play the "good" parts of history.

        I LOVE IT!!!

in civ2, you could do a "scorched earth" policy, and it was even detailed on these forums in the thread where Jeff morris asked what strategies we use.

what you do was turn all the citizens of a city into taxmen, then sell an improvement every turn. even when the city size drops below 5, you can keep them taxmen while they starve.

In my games, I would poison an enemy city down to size 1, destroy all the improvements, and hit it with a single howie to blow it off the map. I just didn't like where the AI placed cities. didn't fit in my mesh at all.....

What a horrible idea!! You are really sick UberKruX!!!

Also, I don't like the idea of "bombing" enemy cities with planes/artillery/tanks!
I think it would be better if they would drop flowers and poetry into the city so that the enemy troops desert! Then you can all become good friends and take the city without killing a single person!!!1

              Good idea Uber...

I was wondering why I hadn't seen you for about a week, LOL.

BTW, don't listen to these flower power hippies. Warmongers rule! And besides, ITS A GAME!!!

              I wanted concentration camps!

BTW to any future hippy critics, my family escaped Nazi terror during WWII and immigrated to America in 1958. My great Uncle was at Auschwitz and has a number tattooed across his arm. My grandfather fought in the partisan army for Serbia against the Nazis and my grandmother watched four of her brothers get bayoneted to death, so don't preach to me how terrible the Nazis were. There's a difference between wanting realism in a game and being a Nazi.

Uberkrux, you are really a sick bastard!

I don't see the point in killing enemy cities. Why not instead turn them into yours and assimilate them. Then your empire grows and becomes big. Otherwise it's a waste of resources....

I always think of myself as a liberator of poor citizens who are being ruled by an evil emperor. And I will save them!

Its a game. I dont see anything wrong with it. Every light must have a dark and every dark a light.

Its not an in game action I would condone, but having the option is fine by me.

If you dont like it, dont do it. But dont begrudge someone else if thats what they want to do. Keep telling yourself, its only a game

In SMAC you can capture a city and disband it which I tried once. I must admit I felt quite sick when it came up with 30000 citizens have been put to death. I didn't do it again.

Same type of thing happened in Baldur's Gate when I got bored and decided my group should go on a killing spree in the town killing women and children. Never again...

Uber, you're a sick man. Thanks for the strategy tip. Looks like I won't be using the "Raze City" option now that you've provided an alternative.

I do not think that forced labor increases production. In the WWII, the forced and tortured labor substituted the absent (they were in the fronts) labor force, who were much more productive. It is also true that no forced labor is better than no labor because it has been changed into soldiers.
