  • Check out the new Domestic Advisor screenshot; is that the Theory of Evolution being built in Memphis??

    Sure looks like it...

Yes, it certainly does. Theory of Evolution probably replaces Darwins Voyage.

    • New screen at Civ3.com confirming that The Pyramids, The Hanging Gardens, The Colossus, The Great Lighthouse, The Great Library, and The Oracle all come back to civ3.

Added to Adam Smith's and Magellan's, and the new Wall Street (though we don't know if any are minor wonders).
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

      • Stuie, darn, you beat me to it - I was just about to tell the (civ)world that Memphis looks like it's building the Theory of Evolution in that screen.

Anyway, here is a link: http://www.civ3.com/gallery.cfm?startimg=16 It is in the middle-right pic.

          • I would LIKE to see a small wonder (nothing minor about it) that gives each base a Naval Port (as in SMAC) perhaps a Naval Academy or Docks , even better would be The Admiralty Headquarters.

You could have an International Airport wonder too, that gives airports to each city on that continent, or just increases trade and culture.

I wonder if the Apollo Wonder works the same way, it would be better to have a small wonder of The Spy Satellite Network as well as apollo/Space agency, that shows you once the complete world map, and allows you to always see enemy ships (easy to spot)

            • Perhaps Firaxis haven't completely finalised everything that is Wonders (sic) , as it wasn't long ago they announced you could get the Golden Age option peacefully with them, so they'll probably have to change around when wonders can be built and what civ style they represent (like religious/indutrious civs needing the Pyramids maybe )

So we better give them all our wonder ideas right now before its too late !

              I think they should have:
              More scientific like discoveries-

The Royal Joust (or Royal Tilting Yard) - Medieval style competition to proove knights worthiness. Increases Knight skill ranks by 2 in your civ(any city, meaning they become Elite quicker with the extra grades of Veteran available)

Discovery of Pennicilin Antibiotics (or Invention - it had to be manufactured) increases growth rates each city or one discontent citizen made content in each. (info: discovered by Fleming in Britain)

Euclidean Geometry - doubles worker rates (better civil engineering for planning roads etc) Discovered by greek philosopher Euclid was the basis for modern geometry(basis of engineering and 3d graphics).

Anti-Slavery Legislation - Abraham Lincoln and co's ban on slavery in the US ; stops waste from production and decreases corruption(perhaps?)

Silicon Valley - doubles research of all Research Labs in your civ.

              • Apparently in the new PCGamer UK preview, it mentions that the Apollo Program and Battlefield Medicine are both small wonders.

Britain stopped slavery first. As a Briton you should know that

                  • How about this for a wonder:

The Coca-Cola Factory: increases production by 50% coz we're all so wired. Effects expire with discovery of Civ 3.
"Proletarier aller Länder, vereinigt euch!" -- Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels
"If you expect a kick in the balls and get a slap in the face, that's a victory." -- Irish proverb

                        • Hey Rib, you might want to move Ironworks and Epic off of the unconfirmed list. here's a pair of links

click here for "Epic" and "Forbidden Palace" (presumably a minor wonder)

                          • From this thread, a Firaxian confirms:

                            Great Wonder: Longevity

Gives effect similar to the population boom during a WLTKD in civ2.

Initial post nonetheless updated with Longevity and Leo's.
