Any thoughts yet about what we should knock off the gold we want if they add in an extra 20 turns of luxuries? I was thinking ask for 150 gold and the lux. As soon as we figure this out I will get back to UnO about it.

Rhoth - I agree with 150 gold and the extra 20 turns of the lux - when we ask for it. Although we are stacking up lots of luxuries - and apparently Lego has one for the giving. (for free.) But as you have pointed out, as the cities grow - better that we use luxuries than the slider.Pressing concerns: What do we want from GoW for printing press
So - even if it ended up at say 120 gold as 6 gpt, plus the luxury tacked on to the end of the current deal, then . That would work. Especially combined with the RP deal, would give us the luxuries we need, plus add to the cash flow.

My apologies for not getting back to you right away. Regarding the printing press deal, as an alternative to the 250 gold price proposed earlier Vox Controli would also like to propose a price of 150 gold (either lump sum or gpt or a combination) along with 20 turns of wines to begin at a time specified by Vox Controli (not necessarily consecutive with the current 40 turns of wines that Glory of War has sent to Vox). We look forward to hearing from you.

Our nation has finished research of the technology known as printing press and we'd like to inquire if you would still be interested in dealing for this tech. We have sent it -unaccepted this turn. We are still looking for a 20 turn extension of our luxury and 150 gold in either a lump sum, gpt, or a combination.
Also, we are beginning research on democracy and would like to start preliminary negotiations for trading if you are willing.

We have sent Chemistry to you unaccepted. If you are interested we can trade Chem for Printing Press and later Metallurgy for Democracy.
As you can see there is a rather large difference between the costs of Chem and PP. We are willing to trade as-is for the sole reason that we will always remember and value Vox's support toward our cause in the war against RP.
A 20 turn No-Trade clause would be attached on the techs we send to you.

I would suggest we take the deal. The combined tech points of the techs they are offering to us is 124, while the value of what we'd be offering to them is 104. If they want to give us that many tech points for the sake of goodwill then I don't mind a bit.

On behalf of Vox Controli we thank you for the offer of chemistry for printing press and we will add printing press to the deal and send it back -accepted. We would also like to formally accept the deal of metallurgy for democracy. Our preliminary estimate is roughly 20 turns from now to complete research of democracy. In about 10 turns we will have a final estimate as that number may be smaller. Vox Controli appreciates the gesture that Glory of War has shown them and it will not go unnoticed in the future. I have included an official signed tech deal acceptance for you to peruse and if it is acceptable please sign it and send a PM back to me. Thanks again and pleasure doing business with you.

Official Tech Deal Acceptance
The nation of Vox Controli agrees to send the technology of printing press-accepted to the nation of Glory of War to complete the deal that Glory of War began by sending chemisty-unaccepted to Vox Controli.
In addition there will be a 20 no-trade clause from the turn that Glory of War accepts the final printing press/chemistry deal (i.e. 530ad) in which Vox Controli will not trade chemistry to any other team and Glory of War will not trade printing press to any other team.
In the future, the nation of Vox Controli agrees to send the technology of democracy-unaccepted, upon completion of research, to the nation of Glory of War. Upon receipt of democracy, Glory of War will send the technology of metallurgy-accepted to Vox Controli and Vox Controli will accept the deal for completion of this technology deal.
If Glory of War does wish to send invention to Vox Controli before Vox Controli completes research of democracy then Vox Controli will send democracy-accepted to Glory of War upon completion of research.
In addition there will be a 20 no-trade clause from the turn that Vox Controli accepts the final democracy/metallurgy deal in which Vox Controli will not trade metallurgy to any other team and Glory of War will not trade democracy to any other team. If Glory of War sends metallurgy to Vox Controli before we are finished with democracy research, the no-trade clause will begin at that time and extend until 20 turns after democracy is sent to Glory of War. (i.e if you send the tech to us 10 turns earlier than we finish research then our no trade time would be 30 turns not 20).
If either team gains one of the involved techs through another means, the rest of the trade shall still go through.

We don't want to give GoW an easy out from this deal.
