Turn 780 is rather near to ND; and I would like to support the research of Vox as soon as possible.

What about, if I send you next turn 150 Gold in trust for a deal of research; and you may send it back, if you decided in another way?

Or should I keep the save until tomorrow evening to let Vox have more time to decide?

Hi Zayxus, we're still discussing the deal, but we probably don't need to hold the save. If we haven't gotten back to you by the time you play your turn then go ahead and send the gold. If we can't get a deal worked out by the start of Vox's turn then we will return the gold to you.

Because I did not know, wether ND would need Communism, I didn't send the 150 Gold this turn. ND is going to research Sanitation slowly. I have to think about it more in detail and I asked the people of ND about researching for Knowledge of Communism like Vox.

As short message: At the moment ND is still interested in Tech C.

Please let me know, how people of Vox think about a support by ND in exchange of C.

A correction to my calculation is necessary:
If ND would research C., it would take:
107G in 27T or
140G in 21T or
182G in 16T or
212G in 14T
ND would like to offer a third, assuming Vox tries to sell it.
Thus ND would offer a third of 107G for 27T or 140G for 21T (and so on) depending on the speed of research of Vox.

My response, which is asking a little more than he offered, but shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Hi Zayxus, Vox has reviewed and we would like to work out the deal for giving communism to Neu Demogyptica in exchange for gold support.

Regarding your offer of a third of the cost we incur, that would be fine with Vox with a little modification. We currently have 21 turns of research to go on communism so if you want to give us 50 gold per turn for 20 turns along with 1 more 20-turn option for future luxuries then I think that would be amenable to Vox.

If that is fine with Neu Demogyptica then I can write up a formal deal for us to sign. Pleasure doing business with you again and we look forward to excellent future dealings.

Hi Zayxus, if your team sent the 50 gold per turn for 20 turns and agrees to add the one future luxury option then I think we have a deal. As soon as we finish research of communism in 20 turns (from 790ad) then we'll send it to you -accepted.

Just wondering ... how is it that ND has so many luxuries to "burn"? Are we confident that they will give us whatever we ask for in terms of luxuries when we ask??

The reason they have luxuries to burn is because they and Glory of War effected the near obliteration of the Roleplay team..who had settled a lot of luxuries beforehand. The two supposedly had a deal to split the continent (called Bob by us, Borconia by ND ) but we're not sure yet if the split is amicable to GoW.

As to trusting them, yeah I think we can. They don't appear to be a team that breaks their word...and if they did then the world would know about it. In any case the current deal we have with them we receive gold every turn. The luxuries will have to wait, but not for too much longer as we will soon grow past size 6 in several cities.

I guess I sort of figured that out, just wasn't sure how long we'd have until any sort of global conflagration would put them on the other side and thus unable to trade with us, or put them on the "creamed as in corn" side and thus unable to trade. But I suppose if we don't have much in the way of home-grown lux we have to make deals like this ...

DP means double post. I hit the send button a few times.

Regarding the global conflagration, right now Lego is tentatively allied with ND, so hence we are sort of allied as well. The relationship with them is currently better right now then it has been in the past, but we of course shouldn't get too complacent. The main thing we have going for us is that we are unimportant. Only someone who wants to attack Lego will attack us. So we'll see how that shakes out.
