you guys are online. We will lose 3 turns waiting for a settler in Millertown. I can switch to worker and lose no shields and he'll be out next turn. That is my suggestion. Any thoughts?

Sounds good to me. The settler will then be placed next in the queue right?____________________________

I agree with the luxury - but not first. We don't need it for disoreder control just yet. And if none of the cities is using that tile right now, it will be wasted effort. We need production and gold. I suggest:
1. mine the two road grassland tiles between Miller Town and The Voice. Will provide a shield each.
2. Road the shielded grass land square north of the capitol, and then the cows square. Extra gold
3. Assess then whether we mine those same two squares next, or connect the luxury.
4. A longer term goal should be an irrigation project from the lake, through the plains squares, down to Chokepoint City, or Elipolis, or whatever we are going to call it. Elipolis is sort of appropriate.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

And yes - barracks sometime - but we need settlers. And we need that wheat-fish city to pump out food and settlers/workers.
Sorry I haven't done much F/A stuff either. Home late again tonight. Not much time. Will have more tomorrow.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Diss and Jon - are you OK with the green hours on the timecounter with Eli out of the picture for awhile - or do you want to change them. Diss has been playing most of the turns, and it seems to be working. But thought I would ask.
Jon - everything OK with Eli?Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Fourth post in a row - sorry - I'm tired. If I was voting between the fourth city earlier - or a worker - I vote for the city. We need to start claiming some of that land south of the chokepoint.
If GS has good food squares, we will not be able to out-rex them - so I say get the southern cities in asap, and we can work on improvements and middle cities after.

here's the thing. Right now we are using the game squares which are getting 2 food and 2 shields and 1 arrow for the roaded one. The Voice uses the cows as well. I was thinking of getting irrigation up there which should increase food supply. This would allow the city to hit size 3 earlier. This is our best bet for a settler producing city until another one comes online.
Miller Town we can't do much with in despotism. Right now the city is working the game square and the lake square (for the extra commerce). This will of course change next turn to just the game square. There isn't much we can do to get this city to grow faster. This city is more of a production city rather than a settler city. When we need to we can use this city to produce military units.Last edited by Dis; January 16, 2003, 00:48.
