The man says nothing, but instead takes a large jar outside of his pocket. There is a head inside.

After a few seconds, he says, "I found this in the Eastern Ocean, off the coast of Barcelona."

King Togas is taken aback by this horrible revelation. He immediately calls in his Royal Seneschel, Thud, and orders one of his guards to take posession of the hideous jar.

Inform the Inquisition. The Heretic GodKing has been murders. This matter must be investigated immediately!

I have informed the Pope. He is setting up an inquiry as we speak. We all hope and pray that the murder was not committed by a member of the security.

This is most shocking news indeed. Senior de la Civ, I shall have to insist that you and your family be placed under the protection of the Royal Guards, in case the killer had more then Sr. GodKing in mind as his target. At least for the duration of the investigation. I take it as necesary to the security of the Kingdom that this violent criminal be brought to the King's justice, whoever he may be.

I am to head the investigation and presecution of the apparent muder of Senor GodKing.

I must question Senor Jorge Madero and Senor de la Civ.

If there's any other witness to events in or around the places where the body and head of Senor GodKing was found, please come foward and state what you have seen. I expect these satemantes to be formal and thus you must first swear to our one true God to tell the truth.

Also, if there are anyperson's who saw anyone coming or going to the island that Senor GodKing was bannished too, they must come forward or latter be prosecuted for withholding evidence in a murder investigation/trial.

Senor Jorge Madero and Senor de la Civ must now present themselves for questioning.

                Senor Big Free,

I was one of the first to hear of this business, and to view the head and the body in the boat. If there is any way I can assist you in this matter, I shall endeavor to do so to the best of my abilities.

Ask me whatever you want, sir.

                  Jorge de Madero

I find these proceedings wasteful and pointless, but would be willing to answer any questions you would like to ask.

                    • Why in God's name did you pickle this mans head!?

                    Senor Calamari:

You have said to me, and I quote:
                    Senor Big Free,

So, it stands to reason that you should now answer some questions as well. Senor Calamari, please answer these questions under oath. Your failure to comply will result in immediate imprisonment.

                    • Who's boat was it?
                    • In what condition was the body in; Did it appear to have been in the water for some time?

Senor de la Civ, please answer the following questions under oath. Your failure to comply will result in immediate imprisonment.

                    • Who was responsible for the safe transport of Senor GodKing after sentence had been passed?
                    • Did you in fact deliver Senor GodKing safely to his prescribed destination?
                    • Did you leave Senor GodKing at his prescribed destination alive and unharmed by you or others to the best of your knowledge?
                    • When and where was the last time you saw Senor GodKing alive?

*At this point, Senor Libre calls over representatives from the church and the Kings Royal Gurads to examine Senor de la Civ's sandals. Senor de la Civ is shocked to see the stains himself...

Where exactly did you find the head?
Well, I was out with some of my friends on our weekly fishing trip. We had come out of the Barcelona harbor, and there was a bad wind so we got pushed further from shore than we normally go. Somewhere in the Eastern Ocean, I'm not exactly sure, we saw blood, and then looking closer, a head.

Did you see any signs that anyone else could been in the area that you found the head?
Well, obviously the head had to have gotten there somehow and probably through the actions of a person, but other than that, no.

What relations, if any, have you had with Senor GodKing in the past?
None; I saw the posters calling for his arrest, but otherwise none.

What relations, if any, have you had with Senor de la Civ?
                      None.

Do you have any other pertinent information for me concerning this head you found?
Well, perhaps I could add that when we found it, it was upside-down, but when we turned it back right-side up blood poured out.

Why in God's name did you pickle this mans head!?
We were somewhat lost at sea, and knew it would take at least a few days to get back home. My friend is a very strange man and sometimes pickles fish that he considers strange, so we had pickling equipment there. We didn't know what else to do, so we decided to pickle it.

What was your realtion to Senor GodKing?
Well, as I presume you know, I was an acquaintence of his and had been put in charge of capturing him and later enforcing his sentence.

What is your relation to Senor Calamari?
He is a friend of mine, and in some ways my boss in relation with Church issues.

What is your realtion to Senor Madero?
I have never seen this strange man in my life.

Who was responsible for the safe transport of Senor GodKing after sentence had been passed?
                        I was.

Did you in fact deliver Senor GodKing safely to his prescribed destination?
                        Yes.

Did you leave Senor GodKing at his prescribed destination alive and unharmed by you or others to the best of your knowledge?
Not completely unharmed, when I unloaded him at the island he tried to use his Satanic powers to attak me, and I was forced to cut off his hand.

When and where was the last time you saw Senor GodKing alive?
When I left the island, a couple weeks ago.

What were some of the last things you talked about with Senor GodKing?
The very last? When he tried to attack me, I warned him it would do him no good and that I could ward him off, but he continued, so I threatened to cut off his hand, and he still didn't stop, but when I cut off his hand he finally stopped. Before that, we were mainly silent; I did not want to give him opportunities to vocally call on the Devil for aid.

Is that blood stains on your sandals!?
*Looks down and then appears greatly surprised* Um, indeed it is, it, uh, must have gotten on them when I cut off the blasphemer's hand.

                          (Cardinal Calamari takes the stand)

What, if any, is your relation to Senor Madero?
I have none. My brother, however, owns El Squid Company, and Senor Madero is often on the wharves when he docks, so they have shared pleasantries. Other than that, there is nothing.

What, if any, is your relation to Senor de la Civ?
He is a Paladin of the Church, and I am the Archbishop of all Spain, Cardinal of Castile. We met on numerous occasions, and have dined in past. He is a friend, though I know him not as well as, say, his brother the priest. I know that he was with Senor Torquemada, the Watcher, and that Senor Torquemada placed him in charge of Senor GodKing's person.

What, if any, is your relation to Senor GodKing?
He was a second cousin on my mother's side. I did not know him very well, however. I was more familiar with his father, who was a good friend. I was placed in charge by the Pope of the Court of Inquisition that found him guilty of heresy and sentenced him to exile. The last I saw of him until...his death...was when he was taken away to the island by Senor de la Civ in irons.

How did you come to find both the head and the body in a boat?
Well, it was the evening, and I was temporarily staying in Barcelona to deliver a sermon there. However, as I was taking off my skull-cap and preparing to turn it for the night, my secretary, Senor Neecap, knocked at my door. He has a cousin, Benito, who works at the palace. He identified the head of Senor GodKing as it was presented, and immediately rode out to inform the Inquisition at the behest of the King. He rode to Gastronome so that he might in turn tell me. Then, as I was preparing to leave to hear Senor Benito, I was told that the boat of Senor Madero was still docked in Barcelona's port, where it had been led in the evening before by pyres and torch-light. Senor Madero's mate was aboard, and I was quickly shown into the room in which the body was. I did not see the head until I arrived in New Madrid, where I saw it when it was being taken away in transit as evidence. You might say that the reason I went aboard the boat was because I was too stunned to believe that this had happened, for the power of the Church would have been questioned by such an action. Unfortunately, it was true. It was the body, identified by his prison clothes and the number that had been given him.

                          Who's boat was it?
The vessel belonged to Senor Madero. (points) That man.

In what condition was the body in; Did it appear to have been in the water for some time?
Well, Senor GodKing had been sent to the island three weeks before. He should have arrived in a week. Senor GodKing's body was drenched. He appeared to have been floating about for some great time indeed. The numbers on his tunic were barely legible, it was because of the head (and a rather embarrasing birth-mark) that a positive identification was made. Thus, I suspect that the killing must have occured within a day, if not less, of his arrival on the island. More likely, on the same day.

                          Is there anything more?

Senor de la Civ, it seems your troubles are mounting!

                              Please responds to these questions/acusations:
                              • It has been reported by a Cardinal of the church, that Senor GodKing left with you to his island of exile with his hands and ankles in iron's. How did you come to cut of Senor GodKings hand when is was protected by the irons?
                              • An even more important question and acusation my dear Senor de la Civ is that if you indeed had cut off Senor GodKings hand why is it his body, that was recovered a short time after his head was, still had both hands attached!?
                                written by Cardinal Calamari:
There were no wounds on the body from the feet up, but the neck ended in a grisly sight. Indeed, what was grisly was that the neck didn't technically end, at least not as it naturally should. You see, sir, the head was missing, hacked off by a broadsword as carried by all officers of the Spanish army and the Swiss mercenary force.
                              • I submit to you Senor de la Civ that you did not in fact cut off Senor GodKings hand, but did cut off his head! How could you make such a horrible blunder?
                              • Do you now admit to killing Senor GodKing, even if it was an accident in which you meant to cut of his hand?

*Senor Libre looks at Senor de la Civ is is quite taken aback. Senor de la Civ had seemed surprised that the body had actually been found...
