  • Panzer32,

I'm concerned that adaMada has not contacted you about our tech exchange, etc. I posted orders for him on Tuesday and again sent him instructions Thursday but I have not heard back from him.

I authorized him to proceed with the following deal:

"HBR now and 60 gold in 4 turns for removal and writing in 4 turns"

Of course, a few turns have gone by. We will have writing in less than 4 turns.

I expect that this will work in the following mannor:

    We receive HBR from you.
We follow the warrior (I think his name is Basher) as he moves north from the Eneros Mountains, through the desert, and into the jungle.
We then exchange Writing for 60g.

We are pleased to see that your other warrior has left the area near Madrid.

      Togas,

Yes, adaMada and I have been in touch. He has wanted to include a no trade clause in the deal, and we have been trying to agree on one. If you wish to do the following deal you proposed exactly how you said it, then the Glory of War will accept: (We=Roleplay, You=GoW)

I thank you for your time, and again assure you that adaMada has been in touch.

I would agree right now but I don't want to waste adaMada's efforts. He's done a lot to negotiate this deal with you guys and I'd like to let him finish the job.

        • They appear to be stalling again.

I'm moving the warriors back south.

Added this memo to the email I forwarded the save with:
I am sorry, and this is by no means meant to be a hostile act, but the mapping of the continent is an incredibly valuable resource, both strategically and for trade after Mapmaking.

We have waited several turns for a definite trade deal on Writing and there simply hasn't been an offer. The minute a finalized deal is agreed on we will move our warriors out but as we moved them north in good faith and have lost those turns of exploration our team must make some progress either in mapped area or new technology.

          • This is a big scam and we might as well call Roleplay on it.

I think Tuesday we had the chat with Roleplay. We agreed that there was a possibility of trading Horseback for Writing and that we would have to pay gold and move our units north.

That day we moved our units north. They begin stalling and continually refuse to settle on an agreement.

Panzer has continued to try and contact Roleplay and they continually stall and make no commitment. I suggest that Panzer mention that if we recieve no agreement that our warriors will continue to move south.

Togas informs Panzer that adaMada has "been instructed to give us a treaty", and yet adaMada who has been fairly active in negotiations goes silent. To me this another of Togas' blatant plots and just another stalling tactic.

He even states that now Writing will be traded when our warriors are in a specific tile area.

We have bent over backwards for their self-centered civ and am absolutely sick of it. We should negotiate a definite deal with Lux. Tell them Roleplay will have Writing in 2 turns and if they can guarantee to give it to us in no less than 3 turns we will break off any deal we were negotiating with Roleplay and allow them to give it to us.

BUT WE WANT AN ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE ON THE EXACTLY WHEN THEY WILL GIVE US WRITING.

              Dear Panzer,
Togas has just told me that Ghengis dropped him an odd note in the most recent save -- something about your warrior returning to our lands or whatnot as you've "waited for several turns and there has not been an offer". I must admit, I was rather surprised at this, as I sent an offer last night -- accepting condition three and your original offer for a fifteen turn no-tech trade agreement. Assuming the PM came through all right, I've gotta assume that this is simply a mistake. I understand that both teams obviously need time to discuss before making a further deal, but I feel that we are negotiating, and that we have made an offer. I’m sure it’s probably a mistake, or perhaps overlapping events, but I wanted to shoot you a quick PM and try to clarify the whole issue before anything gets out of hand .

I guess I just posted it and then went on to other things, like talking with Togas. Here is an acceptance, that I will send this afternoon:

It seems that in the chaos, that PM got forgot about (perhaps because a new page was started after its posting). We have also recieved messages from Togas asking whether you have been active. I now see that you have been waiting for us... Therefore:

The Glory of War accepts this deal. The points are:
-GoW Gives: Horseback riding and warrior removal now and 60 gold upon reception of writing.
              -Roleplay Gives: Writing upon acquisition
-Neither team will trade the tech it acquires for fifteen turns after acquisition.

              About the 15 turn non-trading:
I assume this starts at 1950bc. I calculate that 15 turns from that is 1500bc, since the switch from 40 year turns to 25 year turns happens at 1750bc. If I am wrong, please contact me. Thank you.

                When was this deal posted?

This is a crappy deal, not only do we have to wait 15 turns but according to Togas we have to wait until the Wariors are removed beyond the desert which is 10 turns away. Meaning we get Writing turns later than Lux was offering to give it to us for free and we have to pay 60 gold for it.

                • GF: If you read the points, it says we get writing "upon aquisition" - meaning the turn that they finish it. It says nothing about the warrior having to be removed to the desert. Also, about the 60 gold: For this deal, it was originally 40 gold (proposed as deal #3 during the chat: "HBR now and 40g in 4 turns for removal and writing in 4 turns"), but you said "We will give you Horseback NOW, which gives youa very formidible Offense option, 60 g for Writing on the turn you finish it AND remove our two warriors from your territory back to our homelands". This is what we were proposing - don't complain about the 60 gold because you added 20 gold on to the original 40.

Also, question: what tech is Roleplay researching now? This is so the Glory of War can chose a different tech and then we can trade.

So on the next turn I will send them 60 gold and Horseback Riding (and move the warriors north) and we will see if they live up to their end.

I am kind of hoping they try to insert another "clause" so that we can call it all off, and then persue a different deal through Lux.

                            • Based on Borc's comments Rolplay is founding cities right up next to ND's southern edge so it probably won't be difficult to get ND interested in a war against Roleplay.

                              • Roleplay refused to accept the offer in game that we agreed to!
Why? If they don't accept it next turn I am going to consider it just one more lie on their side and start scouting the south again. That's two turns of moving north on our part and nothing but lies and failure to comply on their part. They have fulfilled absolutely nothing on any part of the last 2 agreements we have made with them.
