is there any way to see if a team is trading peace for per turn gold?

I don't think that would show up, only resources and luxs as far as I know.

Maybe we can see it in the details once we have a spy there, I'm not sure on that

when I stated my previous question, i was really referring to the gold for peace trade, but worded it poorly.

If RP knows that we can't see that, then they might be doing that to avoid detection.

alseep, if they would simply offer gpt, we wouldn't see it either. Only trading of resources can be seen by a (green?) line. It doesn't matter if there's a peace deal involved, AFAIK

Well, as long as they don't have a harbor, there really couldn't be any line present. But, it is possible to check if they have their iron connected.

Thanks for the heads' up Theseus! And while I'm driving home from work, somebody care to give me the reader's digest version. A sucker punch, from what I've heard so far? (disconnected iron + warriors = Immortals in number?)

Hi Vel, nice of you to log on!

It's been quite heavy, we have build a peaceful super empire, but are a bit short on units. We can produce them quickly enough, the whole point is that we need to keep Vox from damaging us too much before our full force can come through.

Maybe the screenshots, or the save might help getting you up to speed

As DeepO said, we made the mistake of following our treaty-called for 10 turn na after ending the tech end. We had basically no army when war was declared

                        However:

Vox made two huge mistakes in the planning of this attack.

                        1. They allowed Grog to stay on the northern mountain for thousands of years. He would provide warning of southern troop movement, so he was snuffed out. Saving us what 6 turns?

                        2. they landed 2 immortals to the east to take out Ouch. Huge mistake. He committed suicide, we killed the immortal with our chariot firing our GA and making an elite unit.

Since the legos got the pyramids the next turn, this proved crucial, as we were planning for it to trigger the GA

I honestly don't know if we could have handled the 15 or so immortals we can see now had that not happened. If we would have had to wait to fire the GA......

We have reason to believe that RP is funding this war, ie the warrior->immortal upgrades and now Togas hatred for GS and NYE (not joking there)
They also won't buy feudalism from us....

GoW recently paid us 200 for feudalism, without which we would be hurting,so doubtful if they are in on it too much, they are probalby gearing for war along with RP against ND, who has been quite isolationist.

legos-who knows. they won't buy feudalism off us

theres more of course, but that is the short version.

I might not be around much, but I could not, in good conscience, ignore the call put out by a fellow team member. So....after dinner, I shall start pouring over everything we know about VoX, our current standings and such, and see where I can lend a hand (if that's cool with you guys).

Some questions and stuff off the top of my head....maybe you guys can point me to the relevant threads containing this information so I can refine my search?

                          1) Who are we up against? Meaning, who's on the Vox team? NYE mentioned some MP veterans?

                          2) They've got 4 cities to our 6, if I'm reading the info in this thread correctly, yes?

                          3) 15+/- Immortals we can see, yes? (does this include the 2 toasted in the ill-concieved flank attack that gave us the 'leet, or no?) And estimates I'm seeing here give them, worst case, a total of 25 (plus assumed production in their cities) (and does the worst case 25 include the two dead?)

                          4) How many *available* units do we have (barring totally stripping cities) to play with now, what are they, and how many of our cities are currently working on units (and what units are they working on)

                          5) Have we snagged any wonders/minor wonders?

                          6) What's the latest intel we have on all our rivals (vox especially, but everybody else too).

Nancy's home with dinner, but I'll be back directly, and I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions!

With a smaller civ leading the attack, it's a fair bet that they not only got a wave of financing sufficient to convert all those warriors to immortals, but quite probably, are recieving ongoing financial aid. Given that we're bigger, they have to know they can't out-produce us, long term, and so a single financial injection would not be sufficient (especially in light of an already failed flank effort) to win the day.

We should also assume that they're going for the jugular. This is not a pruning attack....it's a move to exterminate.....least that's my take so far....will continue my reading shortly!

Betahound, Konquest are the ones I know best.

                            2) They've got 4 cities to our 6, if I'm reading the info in this thread correctly, yes?
They've got 7 cities, 4 of which are at size 1, the highest size they have is 4. We've got 13 cities, one 11, one size 10, and 5 size 1's. Both teams are in their GAs.

                            3) 15+/- Immortals we can see, yes? (does this include the 2 toasted in the ill-concieved flank attack that gave us the 'leet, or no?) Actually, I think that currently, we're looking at some 25 immortals at most, plus another 5 or so warriors to get upgraded the moment they reach Dissidentville (closest Vox city to us) We see about 15 immortals, yes, 3 on our East coast, 11 next to Arashi 9 (the mountain 9 from Arashi), 1 closer to Monsoon, probably heading to the stack of Arashi. There could be more reinforcements heading their way, however we don't think many of them. Also, it is possible that next turn, another 2 immortals get dropped of near our East coast.

                            4) How many *available* units do we have (barring totally stripping cities) to play with now, what are they, and how many of our cities are currently working on units (and what units are they working on)
See the turn thread, I think. You will also find more information in the infocenter thread. And the mailbox mentioned in one of the topped threads has the last screenshot, you can ask the save from someone who has it (only a few chose to receive it over e-mail, I'm not one of them)

                            5) Have we snagged any wonders/minor wonders?
the great lighthouse, as Legoland build the pyramids one turn before we would, and we needed Hurricane (size 11) for unit building immediately. In a few turns, Hurricane will be producing 30 shields a turn.

Nancy's home with dinner, but I'll be back directly, and I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions!

                              Do you have PTW?

if so we can send you the save. A bit easier when you can personally eyeball the situation.

In the meantime, yes, I'll check out all the latest screenshots and whatever other information you good folks point me to!
