  • Wow!

Posting to you from Norfolk VA. I'll be bacl in 28/4 like i promised.

It just keeps happening- i'm gone for a few days and...

    Well, alot happens

What did i managed to pick up?- war with Vox- they started it- good! (the trash-talking thing- i didn't think we could do it, but it's kind of good we showed the others we are humans, with feelings and all )

-Lego has the Pyramids- that's too bad, but at least we have our GA, and we get to pick another wonder...

How is the war going? what are we planning on doing with diplomacy? And did we manage to sell Feudalism?

I'll check back in a few hours, just give me some quick informative update

    Thanks alot,
    Zeit

We got a deal with GoW that they give us the 200g up font and we researched Feudalism. ND is also buying, no one else is very interested (Vox might be, but we aren't selling of course).

Part of the deal with GoW was that they use their galleys to send us intelligence on Vox's troop movement. In exchange, they get to scout out our coasts.

The war is going pretty well so far. We lost a WC on the first turn, disbanding a warrior, and losing Grog of course. Our next battle was more to our liking, we killed a regular Immortal with a veteran WC, which got upgraded to Elite. We protected the elite (it ended up right next to a vet Immortal) with 2 vet WC's and the Immortal retreated.

We have EotS slated for a Barracks this next turn, 20 shield unit, and then 30 shield units thereafter. Arashi will finish it's Barracks this turn as well. Tempest is already on units.

Defense of Arashi is looking good at this point. We can have have 3 Pikes/6 Med Infantry(some of them still swords though) on the Mountain 9 of Arashi fortified, before Vox can get any Immortals into attack position. Their initial stack of Immortals looks to be 4 of them (which has no chance of dislodging our defense on it's own), and 4 more are known to be comming, possibly headed E first, or just hung back in Dissidentville.

I just can't believe it- when i left- we were working around the clock: shifting laborers, worrying about aquaducts- now we look like the US after pearl harbor- in an industrial GA, with little or no Army.

We are cranckinng out units- that's good to hear, i hope we'll have a decent attack force soon...

What are we planning to do about the Voxian Iron?- i saw some plans on a navy seals operation to cut of their supply- how's that going?

About the fake-war ruse GoW has suggested- i don't want us to get into this- we can't be pulled into this game (doesn't this reminds you of Dune? "a feint within a feint withing a feint" ). We're strong enough on our own to stay out of it, and can even live with embargo if that's what it's gonna cost (i don't believe it will, but still). Just keep working on our relation with GoW- more trust will be build if we allow them to scout around- but i don't see any invasion coming.

Even with all the news of ruses and backstabs- it's pretty much the same: RP is pulling the strings to keep everyone against each other, Lego has a hard time making any decisions that will irritate anyone on Bob (we should tell them they have to learn from our experience- standing in the spot light being "played around" by RP and GoW) we could even spill some of what GF told us to get them going. If they are what we thought they were- this could easily turn into the "honorable good-guys" (Lego, GS) against the "scheming bad-guys" (all the rest).
I think we have now fully entered into the stinking bog of politics, so watching our step is of outmost importance.

We are not boring anymore, that's for sure...

Btw- i just got reminded of Sun Tzu- "if you're strong, make yourself look weak"- it seems we have accomplished that.

Yes, and unless you would like to see us continue building Wonders while the Immortals approach, I suggest you vote in the poll.

btw, Aeson only mentioned the 4 Immortals we can see coming through the mountains, there is another tile we cannot see. There may very well be more Vox forces there.

Hi Zeit! I'm glad you could check back.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I didn't want to clutter the turnthread.
What do you guys think of this? Anything you think I should add to it before I post it on the public forum?

Edit: added an outline for a stronger definition of the cover image. You should reload to get the latest image.

Normally I would have waited for you guys to react and give a few tips, but I think that I might be able to get this included in the newZupdate... so I'm gonna post it now.

I mentioned the other 4 we've seen so far. At this point, those are the only other 4 that could be past Dissidentville so far (other than the vet out on the E coast) without GoW having faked screenshots for us.

Nope. There is a jungle tile that is equadistant to Arashi from the stack with workers, that is not coastal, and that we cannot see.

I've mentioned this before, but I will mention it again, because I haven't been satisfied with the answer.

I think we are wrong about the above assumption.

Looking at my 750bc map (the turn before the assassination of grog) I can see two squares north. the square to the 6 of Elipolis is dark.

From this dark square to the 6 of Elipolis I count 6 roaded tiles to d'ville.

So: turrn 750, they move their army onto the square next to elipolis, we can't see it. turn 730. grog is dead, army marches south three squares. turn 710, vox army moves three squares, arrives in D'ville. This same turn, GoW sends us shots of the area. GoW's turn is after Vox, so they missed the first group and are only seeing the second group that has just moved.

Please tell me, anybody, what is wrong with the above hypothesis?

GoW showed us a screenshot of the tile 3 tiles south of that dark spot. The screenshot GF sent was taken on 730BC (I had requested GF take that screenshot before they sent the turn).

Ah you are right, thankyou for the answer, I was wondering about this and this actually pursuades me as to why I'm wrong.

                        and a little

And I was wrong about the turns as well, as the war started at 750, not 730, but that would still jive with the screens as GoW goes before Vox.
