And that's followed by an offer from GoW, which I'm also dismissing in-game since we have some serious ambassadorial negotiations to take care of first.

I forgot that the worker "3" from EotS is mining, not roading, since I hadn't been planning the chop quite yet at the time he got his orders. So I have to use the worker who's been mining for Tornado next to the forest to start the chop right now. That may possibly cost us a couple gold, but food and shields won't be problems.

Turn and screenshots sent. I won't have time to start a thread for next turn until this evening U.S. time.

Your plan is definitely nice from a defense perspective, but I haven't seen or gotten around to doing enough economic analysis to be sure its economics are as good.
For what it's worth, I like Aeson's plan better. We will lose a tiny bit of gain from settling a hill instead of a desert, but the defensive advantage, and settling the city on the river without taking any fps is enough for me.

Up North, there might be one change needed (IIRC), but that won't make any difference on improvements... and I have to look at the screenies again to see if I was not mistaken.
