I was unaware of this bug until it was raised in (I think) the ISDG forum here. It sounds very much like an exploit to me, and shouldn't be used IMHO. But if all teams are happy to use it I guess it's OK.

Not that I'm active enough in the ISDG for my opinion to count.

Oh yeah ... speaking of MZO ... to Arrian: LET'S-GO-BAHSTEN!
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

I didn't realize this exploit and personally don't see the need to use it in any circumstance. Can all ship units do this, or just a galley? If all can do it, then maybe its a "feature". I personally don't care one way or another on the matter.

Unitl an agreement on some form of 'rules' for MP, assume that people will use these 'exploits'.

Of course, in human vs human, it is not an exploit, because both sides can use it.

I would think if anything is over the line, our use of medeival teleportation would be.

Well, you're probably right on that one. Truth be told, we have used as many tricks and exploits as the next team, probably. From short rushing an army to moving vox all the way around the world to gifting catapults, we are certainly in no position to criticize exploits (if you can consider them exploits in mp)

Don't agree, personally. It may be a clever trick, but it is no exploit: anyone can do it. It's not a bug we're abusing, although it's a feature probably not meant to be used like this. Plus, we haven't used it once for ourselves, but always for other teams (granted, they were our friends), and have told at least 3 teams (RP, Vox and Lego).

Besides, we still want to win, if we can't be creative in using the game mechanics, we would totally negate our strengths. If this was an exploit, Vox pillaging a road to have 80% of their empire as a warrior breeding room would have been an exploit as well.

I agree, DeepO. And creative in using the game mechanics would include fortifying galleys at the end of their movement to gain a sight advantage. Both sides can do it, and nowhere has it been agreed that no-one will do it.

With the exception that the fortifying of galleys is a bug: if you would fortify a galley with movement points remaining, no-one would complain. However, the fortify all code has been buggy from the start, up until now it was thought it was only a display problem, instead of also actually doing something. So that's not really a game mechanic, in my eyes

Hot_Enamel posted this in the ISDG forum wrt something that people who are involved in the ISDG will know about.

Another point.. GoW felt that ND gifted our map away way to easily. (To Lego IIRC).

Shiber, we already knew about this... it was a mistake of them, Vondrack told us at the time when we were negotiating for contact. In that same week, maybe even the same day, GoW sold CoL to Lego... I remember because I had a chat with Lego in which we discussed both things...

                      Thanks for pointing that out.

Posted by Un0 in the MZO thread re a C3C MPDG:

"GoW is definately for sale. There just have been a remarkable lack of offers. As I said, I don't think anyone took us seriously.

Did RP offer us anything of value to switch sides? No.

Did GS offer us anything to help against Vox? No.

                        Against ND? No.

Will Lego ever get their turtling ass of their island paradise? No."

I wonder what price it would take to get them to attack ND?

Or if that would still even be possible.

I don't think trading RP for GoW would be good, though, as in, we'll attack ND if you stop defending RP. That's a no go.

I don't even know what we could offer them beyond gold.

                            maybe we should ask them.

we could say were unsure about whether it's worth the units to take them out of the game when it may be possible to work something else out.

Also perhaps mention that in the current situation lego could prop up any side that's losing and keep the war going untill they win a space race.

Not to be insanely paranoid, but has anyone else noticed the recent change to Beta's tagline?

I have nothing to say here... but I'm making a point.

Does anyone have any new intel?
