  • If it was 'legal', every wonder available would have been built by now IMO. Each team would have one of their buddies sending them warriors to kill and vice versa to kill. Even if it's not expressly forbidden, it isn't something we should do.

Peace hasn't been signed yet, and we have at least a couple shots at targets with our Elite WC's in the coming turns.

    • That makes sense.
Alright, I'll hold my fingers for our elite WCs.

      • Wow!

        Lookin' good, folks!

Though I really have to wonder... where the hell are they gonna go?

So, it is my understanding that the deal we're discussing is:

        - They leave the continent soon, supervised and perhaps helped by us (the planning)
        - They give us Engineering (at some point) for free.
        - They give us Nationalism for free.

I wouldn't mind getting their catapults. But that's not a big deal.

I'm for this, obviously. Now... what do you all think about a FP in Dissidentville?

Any ideas regarding a palace location if we have a FP in D'ville?

I am not sure I like a FP in D'ville.' I need to study the map more...

          • Neither am I, MSS.

I prefer to plan as if we might not be moving our palace off the continent. Not that we don't want to do that, but it simply might not be possible (doing so requires a lot of things to go our way). So I'm looking at minimizing corruption on our continent, while not totally screwing our current core cities if we do manage to move the palace elsewhere. So I figured Dissville is about right... hell, maybe Inchon.

            • I think Elipolis would be the perfect spot for our FP if/when we have the entire continent. Waiting to build it on Bob is going to hurt too much, and not give all that much better production/commerce in the long run anyways.

We need a foothold on Bob eventually, but we don't have to have a productive foothold. In many cases it's better that we aren't relying on production from any holdings on Bob, as then war isn't as much a threat to us. Sea invasions are tough to pull off relatively speaking.

              • Elipolis has two problems. (1) Corruption will almost certainly be prohibitively high to build a FP there without a leader. (2) It would do little to address corruption in our original core if we want to move our palace later.

With the way the game is shaping up, I don't think the tradeoff of maximizing production on our continent at the expense of not being able to establish a new core elsewhere later would be a bad one. But having to wait half of forever before the FP gets finished would be a huge drawback.

Is the deal good enough? Should we send it?

                    • One comment: if I read the proposal, are we giving them all their current pop? I would think we give them all pop, minus one per city (in order to give it away). So a size 5 city becomes 2 settlers, and not 2 settlers and a worker.

Further, answer them on D-ville (which can be done before official acceptance of the proposal): Yes, get all your units in there asap, and give it to us.

Lastly, ask them about that scenario... or the exact shield / food situation in there cities. We're already in turn 2 of the 18-turn period

                      • Their cities should grow at least once each in the 18 turns, so their current pop total would be fine with me.

                        • Alright, let's get done with this.
What else do we need before we can send our reply to Vox's latest counter-offer?

Exactly. With Eli's version, we could easily have ended up obligated to help/let Vox evacuate with more than their current population, since cities could grow twice and would have to be down to pop 1 before being handed over to us.

                            • We can come up with an evacuation plan for them, and according to the draft, as soon as we've evacuated all their cities to 1 pop or less, they give us the city.
Anyway, let's ratify this thing already, Vox is getting nervous.

                              • hmmm... I know their cities are going to grow, however, we could ask them to keep their cities at 0 surplus food, if that would mean more shields produced (not sure this applies, haven't seen at the Vox map in a while)
