My reponse to Darekill, which I hope didn't overstep any boundaries.

Hi Darekill,

thanks for you response - I've only just had time to read it due to a busy weeked.

Your requirements for peace aren't unexpected. The following is my personal observations, not GS policy, so please bear that in mind. I suspect most of GS is sick of war, and are losing interest in continuing it regardless of whether it is the best plan or not. I think the idea of getting out of Borconia, and settling down quietly on Stormia for a nice long time is in everyone's minds, so peace may be just around the corner.

I'll post your response in our forum, and get back to you as soon as we have decided whether to abandon this ill-fated expedition or to carry on fighting.

My response would not have been so thoughtful. In any event what do we gain by accepting this plan? Pride is more important than life. Humiliation is not as acceptable as death.

With a more circumspect, why do they not offer any carrot or any reason to accept?

Hi Darekill,

Well, it's over for us. We have decided to evacuate our remaining forces from Borconia, since we feel there is no longer any chance of gaining anything from continuing this war. We are unwilling to sign a peace treaty on the terms you set out, but we are going to leave Borconia anyway, and have no military plans beyond defending our own territory, and curling up with a nice book and a glass of wine. We would welcome the opportunity to re-establish trade with ND as soon as you are willing to. If you prefer to try and invade us, then please feel free to do so.

The future of current RP cities is currently open. RP may wish to go down fighting, may raze everything and abandon their old Spanish territories, or may be willing to come to a deal about handing the cities over to you and/or GoW. Any offers you wish to make regarding RP cities should of course be sent to them rather than us.

We bear no ill will against ND. It's been a good war, with no animosity, and sadly you were just too god for us.

Hi Darekill,

It is possible that the current balance of forces around the world presents us with the possibility of a final settlement to the Great Bobian War.

The recent combined shield losses have put Lego in a dominant position, and a lengthy, expensive conclusion to the status of Pamplona could be just what Lego need to become unnassailable.

GS and RP are yet to determine their teams' positions with regard to the future - but it is possible that a final settlement could now be reached which offered immediate peace, security, mutual benefit and common interest.

We we will be in contact again, and look forward to a positive conculsion to hostilities.

Hi,
this is a great day for us.
I don't think we will bash the reteating forces.
As soon as your last city on Borconia and the last soldier of GS has left the borconian Soil we will offer probably peace ingame without further conditions. This is just my estimation but usualy I'm right.
As you said, it was a fair fight and there is no need to hold up anything against each other, You saw a chance and it is clear that you tried your best. We are glad it did not work but that's it.

of course we are interested in spanish citys, we started a war about that matter
And yes, we are not sure how our alliance with GoW will continue after the war they are mercenarys after all.

Thanks for the reply, Darekill. We're not quite sure where RP stand with us at the moment - and that will affect our decisions and any possible offer to yourselves.. We hope to have RP's position clarified very soon.

GS is aware that in the light of recent unit losses by the warring parties on Borconia, the continued defence of Spain - in particular a lengthy conclusion to the final status of Pamplona could possibly hand Lego the game.

All teams are faced with interesting decisions at this point. GS is comitted to withdrawing from Bob and intends to make peace soon with ND and GoW. At this point one option is for ND, GS and GoW to recognise common cause against Lego. To assist this, GS could offer assurance that we would not land on Bob while ND/GoW attack Lego, and would seek to resolve the Pamplona question without further unit loss.

Another possible combination is Lego-GoW vs ND. If this happens it is possible that both GS and RP could be persuaded to support ND against GoW.

Although the future is uncertain, positive relations between ND and GS look possible, and we are interested in the possibilities of being a tech partner with ND. We are behind you now, but in the medium term our research potential is good.

We have the turn, and will disband Barcelona to stop it falling into GoW's hands - unless you'd like to make us an offer. (We have gunpowder in 2 turns). It has the silks currently hooked up.

If we reached agreement, we could send the city to you accepted, with peace this turn so you get it immediately. It would be funny for you to snatch it from under GoW's noses In return you could send us your side of the bargain on your turn.

We'll be all gone from Borconia in a couple of turns, so our forces may not get the chance to wave "hello" at each other for some time. Maybe if they do meet again (at the gates of Legopolis or Imperial City perhaps), they'll be on the same side.
