Hello,

I bring you greetings of Gathering Storm, we too are a peacefull and very honorable people.
To new civilisations and friends we say welcome and wish you the best of luck.
We are here to build a beter world, to lead the world into a new era of prosperity and honour.
We too live by the rule and will of the Gods.

I have had an earlier, though only brief encounter, with one your people (Borg), he told me he would send someone with whom we could get in contact with.

We are still discussing the possibility on meeting, but the concensus seems to head towards "too early".
I have asked my people to change their mind and take you up on your offer, but they have declined as for now.
Alas, some of my famlily, find it hard to alter their ancient ways, in this fast changing world.
They seem to be more comfortable with some then they are with others.
Allthough this saddens me, I have no choice but to respect their will and law.
I do hope, you and I can somehow change their minds and win their trust.

This of course does not mean we do not want to do so at a later time. Nor does it mean, we we can't have the best of relations.

As we're also aware there may be unknown dangers in this always-changing world, we do understand and respect your peoples choice not to share information about your location in the world. Without reservation, we agree that Gathering Storm and Neu Demogyptica can and should have the best of relations anyway!
Nevertheless, we would be happy to meet the proud egyptian people in the world as soon as possible. Please let me know immediately when your people have changed their mind!

It has been awhile my friend, I hope everything is allright. Your civilisation does seem to be very prosperous, we only pray to Gods your good fortune nevers stops..

The last time we met, you asked me to share our knowledge of the world, and more in particular where to find us. At that time my people were rather reluctant to share this information with you and asked me to tell you, someday we will, not just now...

Well my friend, it seems that, that day has come. Finally they are starting to give in. I cannot promise you anything for sure, but at least there is good possibility.
May I ask you to tell this to your people and perhaps even inquire if you would still be willing to do the same?

Also, trading info on how many and who you have met so far is fine with us too

(btw: I didn't mention this in the previous PBEM, we are talking about the start minimap (in our case 3950 since we settled one turn later).

Greetings Borc,

Just a short note, with what we hope will be news... We just ran across our first barbarian camp. This seems news, as we heared quite some comments on the general forum, assuming there were no barbarians, or only sedentary barbs in this game we're playing.

We don't know if you already saw barbs yourself, but as a kind warning, we decided to tell all teams we have diplomatic contact with of 'our' barbarians, in the hopes you can protect yourself against possible outbreaks.

We seem to be distant neighbors and therefore do not have the honor and pleasure of meeting you more often.
This saddens me very much, let’s hope someday we will have better transportation methods that will allow us to visit one another more frequently.

I apologize for the hastiness, but I have a quick and somewhat urgent message to convey.
Our civ's wise men will soon complete their research in a new field named "Code of Laws", and we were wondering, if and what your glorious civilization might be willing to offer for this technology?
We are open to many offers and will consider them carefully.
We are interested in many things, such as new ways of doing things, or even that yellow orange stuff might interest us.
However let me state that we have no interested of having "Horse back riding" as part of the deal. For this we already made arrangements with another civilization.

Dear Sir Ralph.
I’m Murkel, minister for public relations and, whats more important, the new ambassador for the fine nation of Gathering Storm. In the future I’ll be the link between the government of Gathering Storm and Neu Demogyptica. So whenever you whant do deal with us, just write me a letter. In fact, I’m not as that long in the political scene as you may think. Before I settled over in the colony of Neu Theben and became the major of the city Dar-El-Killam I worked as a farmer on a ranch. Due to that I hadn’t the luck of a big education and so I have some problems with your beautiful egyptian language. It isn’t that hard to understand, but when I have to formulate well balanced diplomatic sentences I got some problem. If this is bad with you, I really could understand that, just tell me and surely my government would find another ambassador for you. Due to the fact, that I can’t formulate in a good manner sometimes I may not sound diplomatical correct (for a spoiled, highly sensitiv ear this may sound rough), but well, instead I’ll come directly to the point and we could talk clearly face to face (or letter to letter?). I hope this is fine with you.

So, enough of myself and my introduction. I want to know more about your nation. As I heard you and the nation of Vox are on the same continent? So, how is the climax over there ? Here, on this side of the world, we had some troubles with a rude nation. In fact, we couldn’t stop them to burn down there houses, families and even children (our scouts reported of some people, which raped the women and totured the children). This big event is know as the Lux massacre, and will always remain in our history books. Now, this murderers can’t be found anywhere. Hopefully there are gone and never come back.
I want to talk with you about a really important aspect of our two nations. I would like to establish a special egyptian-arabic friendship, which could last forever. This must be diskussed (so far I’ve got the approval of my government) but together we could work out many terms to develop this special friendship. For examples there a sientistical things (work on different techs, student-exchanges,...), cultural things (what religion do you have, do you have history books?), material-trades (arabians make very good spices, we could trade) or also terms in military aspects. I hope you have more ideas we could work at.
Whits this letter I send you a picture, which I think could be the symbol of this great friendship. On it you will see our banner of the foreign ministry and naturally your very own banner. Fine, I hope that I hear from you in the future.
