  • okay, great.

While we can work things out a bit more, playing the save is on hold until we get an answer from them. I hope they realize this, I didn't very expressively mentioned it in the report.

Yeah, but that would be like signing their own death warrant. Right now, they've got a chance we'll leave them alone. If they set foot on Estonia, we might lose a couple of cities before recuperating, but they will be destroyed for sure. If things goes like planned, GoW is going to capture the city next to their territory next turn (one of the few cities which are worth keeping)

      • from MZ:

Yes, spy on us ASAP and we can coordinate from there, off my head I don't remember our unit strength last turn but I'll load up the save in a while and e-mail you back.

            • okay, I'm going to look for the espionage thread. Doing it again wouldn't work, right?

              • I had a feeling our espionage luck was due to run out.

                • On chances of succeeding:
                  Plant Spy
                  Regular spy 50%
                  Veteran spy 60%
If a spy plant fails you will get a flag saying so. You cant plant a spy when flagged. There is a chance of 1/3 for the flag to disappear each turn. Failing other spy mission, does not trigger the flag. You can plant a spy the same turn your spy has been exposed by a failed mission.

So, no more tries right now, and doing it again next turn would be a waste unless we really need it. Damn.

                  • Oh well, we had our luck with the BBs, while so far the naval battles were all unlucky for us. You can't have everything.

                    • I'm not sure about the idea of going north but leaving the FP. Especially now we won't know GoW's odds. We came here to trash the FP and I think we should do it if we can.

Yes, that's quite a slice of good fortune, we might want to lean on certainties if possible for the rest of the turn!

                        • BTW, stealing maps has a 68% chance of success, if we do it safely, 48% when immediate. In the civ fanatacs thread, it is not mentioned if you can do it twice in a turn, as that might be worth it (twice immediate costs the same as safely. chance of getting it are higher, but chance of being caught too)

The thing is: if we can reach Stanwix, GoW can reach the FP for sure.

Oh, and we might be able to trash the FP anyway, it's just that we can't spend a settler on it.

I think I'll start work on a bit of the same city analysis as I did for the South. If we see a way to reach Stanwix, or have a good idea on doing it, I think we can't risk anything, and we'd have to push through. This is one of those times you can't let luck decide, even if it feels like GoW will be able to push through Stanwix easily.

Sigh... Vondrack... if you would know how much not getting the battle report is slowing us down, you would cheer up instantly!

Nah... independent chances is what makes this game. The result of one battle does not depend on what happened before. It's just a human thing to think it does, but each time, you start with a new random number, totally unconnected from the last
