Hmm. Remember way back when? In 190BC, we had a Warrior near Antioch just as we declared war on Persia, at the start of my term. Here we can see English workers labouring away. It has got to be certain that they succeeded in building a road to Antioch from Coventry a long time ago. Persia HAS a trade route with England, for sure, and this is likely to be where it is.
And we can't let Persia having Iron faze us. We have come too far now to turn back. They will be shattered internally and we have them on the run. And we certainly can't let them rebuild, so they can properly use Immortals. It is time to push on irregardless (I love that little piece of American linguistic insanity ), and if we have our armies smashed and are facing a huge Persian counterattack, IF this happens we may make peace. Not when we have victory almost within sight!

Shiber, could you post the game you played where you were able to trade away your only resourse?
Its not that I don't believe you... ok, it is but I remember reading somewhere in the rule book that said you couldn't.
It's a save of a game in a huge map in the late modern age, so naturally it's a large file.
Just use any old save of our game and try it out for yourself.

I have always beleaved that Intelligence has always been the key to victory. The main thing is that we are now PREPARED for the possibility of encountering Immortals, whereas before we weren't. The people who need to know have been informed, that is the best thing to saving our fighting soldgers lives.
Long live the Banana!

Thanks for that, E_T... and this make me think about an official Intelligence Agency for the next term. Maybe in this term, as a deputy.
Let's not get too afraid of Persia yet... We're not yet sure of how many immortals and pikers they have built.
BUT if the war does end up turning over agst us. We should have a backup peace plan. We dont wanna end up ruining economy and paying tributes just because of our blind bloddlust for persian corpses.

There is nothing more stupid than going to war with a big civ, without knowledge about the enemy forces and how to smack them up...
I wish I'd seen that message before it was edited.

Persia with Iron can be scary, but remember, they are in an internal struggle due to war weariness. Cities shut down... Research comes to an almost stand still. The empire collapses on itself. And the only way for them to break free from all this is by begging us for release. We have Xerse by the balls!
